It's an old building but is beautifully decorated for the festive season inside. I loved the overall effort this hotel has gone to. Definitely a class above a budget hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. I would have given this review 5 stars in every area had the room had a mini toothpaste, mouthwash & hair conditioner. Why was I expecting that... well it had everything else. Even a fridge, tissues and bottles of water for guests use. The location is very central walkable to the local restaurants, pubs & stores. Breakfast is a good continental & cooked one. I would not hesitate to stay here again! PS. Loved the lights outside in the garden and there's free parking for guests. Sorry no photos this time my phone fell into a clean toilet 🤦🏻♀️
Room looked like needed modernising.
Bathroom radiator not working...not good when outside was in minus temperatures.
Was not able to stop Bathroom taps dripping/trickling....I did notify reception on check out.
Didn't have breakfast as I had to leave before serving started.
Evening meals, limited choice but nothing wrong with what I had
Stayed over last weekend after my son’s wedding at this hotel. Room superb, breakfast even better.
Vey friendly and accommodating staff and particularly Franco and his team who deserve a 10 star!
The wedding meal for 80 was served hot and plenty of food.
The outside garden area well stocked with comfy furniture and bar to cater for us all.
Would highly recommend for wedding or just pop in for a drink and some food.
Lovely 'Olde English' hotel in Dunstable near to the ancient Priory Church. Steeped in history the building is a bit dark inside but very welcoming. Outside there is a lovely enclosed garden too. Restaurant provides good food, mostly traditional English, but that's its attraction for our group. We go quite regularly.
We just needed to get away for a weekend but within a 45 min drive from home. the Old Palace Lodge Hotel was perfect. A bit run down in appearance from the outside but inside was lovely. Our Deluxe room was perfect. Immaculately clean. Well presented in a contemporary style. Very well equipped. Stunning en suite and good quality toiletries. Outstanding restaurant, superb quality and standard food. Breakfast was 9/10. The walled garden was wonderful with plenty of seating and different zones to relax in. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. As for cleanliness i can honestly say our room was immaculate!! Worth every penny and we would highly recommend staying here if ever you need to be close to Dunstable. We had the most enjoyable weekend
Stayed here for a wedding in nearby village, Good location near centre of Dunstable, and easy access from motorway. Plenty of enclosed on site parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Very nice, spacious rooms and good facilities, unable to find any faults really.
Room was excellent quality, large, comfy bed, really good television service and truly brilliant staff....
The hotel area is a lovely set up perfect families and couples!
The receptionist a young lady, was extremely helpful, the bar staff, a gentlemen and young lady truly offered a brilliant service.
The food was brilliant and they catered to my annoying preferences, the drinks in the bar are very well priced i ended up paying a third of what i was expecting, will be bringing my son back here 100%
A great place for a wedding. We really enjoyed our day here for my fiancés cousins wedding. Tasteful decoration inside that looks great and a great selection of ales, spirits, wines and ciders at the bar. Kept me going all night!
The ceremony room was really nice too. Enough space for average sized wedding. Overall, a really nice day.
Would definitely come here again.
Always welcoming, the Old Palace Lodge has been updated since my last visit. Now with lovely gardens, an updated entrance and well planned parking it was an unexpected surprise. The staff and service were first class as always.
Having recently needed hotel accommodation close to the hospital I stumbled across this hotel.
It is a little hidden gem. When you see it sitting on the side of a main road you might have misgivings however as soon as you go inside you are greeted by the most friendly staff.
I booked a deluxe room and I was pleasantly surprised at the standard. They had everything you might want, and nothing was too much trouble.
I only wish I had found this little gem a few weeks ago when I stayed at a different hotel, not much difference but 3 times the price.
I would highly recommend.
The hotel is lovely and the staff are amazing. The garden is beautiful and a total sun trap and we enjoyed a relaxing drink (or 2) late afternoon. Dinner was tasty but the least said about the covid affected breakfast the better! That was our one major disappointment over a lovely three night stay.
Lovely building and hotel and staff was very friendly and willing to help. The room was amazing. My whole family could of slept in 1 bed it was that big and very comfortable. The only thing was the weather was so hot & the room had no air conditioning but that Didn't take away from such an enjoyable stay. Plenty of choice at breakfast in the morning too. Would recommend everyone go for a stay there.
We went for lunch. The food was wonderful. Great service. Nice atmosphere. There was also a beautiful garden full of flowers. I enjoyed my afternoon.
