Dined here while staying in Atholl Arms Hotel. Also visited for drinks and food during our visit. Luvly bright spacious bar area. Great friendly, warm welcoming staff, Joel, Mark, Adam and Betty who looked after us during our stay. Its also dog friendly. We njoyed soup of the day, cullen skink, pizza and tachos all our food was freshly prepared, generous portions and delicious. A luvly atmosphere. Very good selection of wines and draught beers. popular with dog walkers and families. Worth a visit. Unable to visit the Terrace this visit due to the heavy rain the water level had risen so not safe to use. But a beautiful location. Worth a visit when open. :) :)
Pizza was served cheesy and hot!. Definitely from wood fire pizza rather than conventional oven type..
Seafood platter portion was good
Nice view by the river Tay to have a drink and have some food..
Managed to have a glimpse of double rainbow too !

Fantastic setting, excellent food and service. Would highly recommend
Very nice restaurant we wish we were able to sit on the river side outdoor. But all in all is great
Lovely restaurant with great veggie and vegan choices. Great ambiance! We were able to be seated despite being a big group with a dog on Saturday night.
When we were here, the terrace was only open at the weekend, but we ate in Zs Bistro a number of times.
The food was superb, and I can recommend the Cullen Skink soup. As good as my granny's.
We also shared a pepperoni pizza, which was very tasty.
We ate here on 3 separate nights, and we both rate the food and service highly.
We will be back.
Dog friendly bistro, very nice place to visit when in Dunkeld, with great locally sources venison if meats your thing or even a great selection to choose from on the menu. Very friendly staff,
We were made very welcome from the start of the experience which was a phone call looking for a table with our dog. The waiting service at the table was great, and even supplied us with a dog menu so our dog wasn't feeling left out, the food we had was fantastic and the cheese cake to follow was just as good. Overall a great restaurant/bistro to visit in Dunkeld, super friendly staff and great food 👌
Very enjoyable lunch in Zs Dunkeld. A bright table at the widow was clean and the service prompt but not OTT. Good lunchtime menu. The Kullen Skink was excellent as was the venison burger. A good experience all round and not expensive.
We ate lunch on the outside part of the restaurant. The view is AMAZING and it was so fun eating while watching the river. The food was average in my opinion and quite expensive but the whole experience was good.
We sat outside by the river and had a wonderful dinner. The riverside seating has a full menu and you order at the bar. Wonderful views over the river! Very dog friendly both inside and outside (for seating in bar or bistro area inside, not main restaurant dining). Lots of spots to sit for only drinks or you can sit in the tent on the riverside to also order food from the bar. Friendly staff, quick service (we came midweek for an early dinner). The steak pie was really good, not just your average pub fare. Chips were crisp and lovely. Most pleasantly surprising is that the seasonal vegetables were a great variety of perfectly roasted veg, charred crispy tender. We enjoyed everything we ordered and will be coming back!
Amazing service not just for us but also welcomed our dog like we have never experienced before. The food was incredible and have already planned staying at the hotel as we had only popped in for lunch (more than once) while staying near by. If you're like me and you love cheese, their four cheese pizza is heavenly. They also provided a vast selection on the menu including a vegan section. They have a wide variety of areas to sit as well, both inside and out, even down at the river. Definitely mine and my rottie's new favourite place
Took a spontaneous trip to Dunkeld a couple of Sundays ago and brought our dog with us. On the way, I googled doggy friendly places to eat and Z’s outdoor bar & bistro came up. We decided to go there and I’m so glad that we did!!
My partner seen someone else at a table nearby receive the Sunday roast and immediately made his mind up what he was going to get!! The roast came and it did not disappoint, the Yorkshire pudding was massive!!!
I got the seafood basket, which was also really tasty! It did arrive quite on the cold side but it didn’t matter as I still enjoyed it and we were also eating outside in the marque next to the river!
The staff were all so super friendly as well and also very accommodating with our dog. We are so glad you recommended the doggy ice cream - this kept him occupied for some time and he loved it!
Thanks again for such a lovely meal and we will definitely be back!
Whilst by no means inexpensive for a pub dinner, the food was delicious and very satisfying. I enjoyed a medium-rare classic burger with thick cut potato chips but a special mention is deserved for the side order of garden veg'. I often think the quality of the sides is a big clue to attention to detail and those veggies where outstanding. Well cooked and lightly marinaded in a sauce or dressed in a gravey it was a fullsome dish of it's own and also would be nice with a warm soup at lunchtime.
Team in hotel also very patient and polite in listening to my history enquiries.
Great atmosphere.food is ok and a bit overpriced. Lovely when the weather is nice.
This dog- and vegan-friendly place was a real asset for us, since we had a wet dog and one of the three of us was vegan. In the main room there must have been six dogs sitting under tables or in front of the fire. Although our dog's wanderings were tolerated, I wish I'd brought his lead to keep him with us. I had the Sunday roast, whose meat and Yorkshire pudding were over-done, but it was 15:30 when we started eating. The individual cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes were excellent, though. My companions were very happy with their beetroot burger and Scotch beef burger, and the onion rings and sweet potato fries we shared were also very good. We drank a guest ale which was a bit ordinary.
Been back twice since - latest 22/01/23 - and it's as good as ever!
