This is an absolutely fab bakery in Dunkeld run by an ex The staff are brill, the food is always beautifully presented and tastes superb. There are always interesting cakes, croissants and mini tarts. Try these for example gooseberry and oat cake, plum frangipani tart, pistachio croissant, parsnip and pecan cake, nutty brownies, ginger and fig cheesecake or even raspberry, lemon and poppyseed cake. They also do delicious sourdough bread and the coffee is excellently made. Definitely a 5 star destination.

Been waiting for this place to open for months and it certainly was well worth the wait and the 100 mile round trip. Delicious pastries and cakes and very warm and friendly service.

Amazing baking! I had a blackberry and custard brioch and friends had lemon cake and a cinnamon bun, all absolutely fantastic, so much flavour. We stay in Stirling but those bakes are worth the trip!

Stopped in today for a coffee and cake. The baked cheese cake was incredible, one of the nicest desserts I have ever eaten. The service was fantastic and very friendly. Will definitely call in again.

Thank you Flora for the fabulous birthday cake you made for Cathy. Everybody loved it, we were able to give the restaurant staff a slice each as well, thank you for all your hard work. The Aran Bakery is superb.

A haven of utter happiness! The gluten free clementine and almond cake is out of this world, the brownies perfection and every other item we’ve tried (which is most) delightful. My children can still hardly believe this wonderful bakery is in their village, it’s one of the first things they tell visitors and new friends about. Thank you for the wonder you’ve added to our home and the gorgeous welcome we always have walking through your door. With love the Cave Family

Surely one of the very best bakery and coffee shops in the northern hemisphere. The best bacon roll I have ever had (and I have eaten a few) with rhubarb ketchup: roll and bacon both perfectly crisped. Then an exquisite spiced plum and patisserie cream (perfect) pastry with a ginger crumb. And fabulous coffee. So good we returned the next day and I had exactly the same. A wonderful discovery. Bought bread and one of Flora’s cookery books. My wife described the first recipe I made from it as “the best thing you have made”. Tiny, with only 9 seats, but proof that small is beautiful.

A bakery, not really in the middle of nowhere but still you wouldnt expect it there. After all Dunkeld is pretty small but the town and Aran made a name for themselves over the last year and the creativity of the town and also the bakery incl its other store combine beauty and taste like no other. No more words needed just have a look at the images. Yammie

My new favourite bakery. Was visiting for the weekend, and will be honest in admitting that the long held desire to visit ARAN bakery was one of the main reasons we chose Dunkeld. I was not disappointed. Delighted. The pistachio croissant is possibly the best pastry I've ever had, it was still warm and just to die for. Also had some loaf cakes (lemon and poppyseed was a real highlight) and a blood orange pastry which was gorgeous and light. Three is a really annoying trend of overbaking things currently, and it was a genuine pleasure for this to not be the case at Aran. I'll probably force my husband to drive me to Dunkeld again soon just to visit again. The bakery is lovely, too and the staff were really welcoming and friendly.

Love this bakery, it’s definitely worth going out of your way for if you’re travelling to the Highlands or even a day trip out of Edinburgh or Glasgow. I’ve visited a few times and have really enjoyed everything I’ve tried so far - sourdough bread, coffees, pastries and their cheddar & kimchi toasties! It’s very popular on weekends so make sure to get there early for the best selection. A real bonus is that their staff are really friendly and helpful.

Fantastic little café and bakery. I think 250 reviews here that average 4.9* tells you all you need to know. Friendly staff, a really friendly owner who spent a whole chatting to me about all things café and bakery. The building and decor and very well done, simple and stylish. I tried a flat white, cortado, almond croissant, loaf of bread and foccacia and all were fantastic. I'd make the trip to Dunkeld just for this place!

A cute space that offers a range of savoury and sweet delights. The pork & Apple sausage roll was delicious (available heated as a sit in option) and the Cardamom Bun was sticky, sweet with a delicious cardamom flavour. All paired with a coffee (dairy alternatives available and also delicious) and a seat in the window makes for a great stop in Dunkeld.

Beautiful space and the baked goods were nice. Unfortunately the coffee we had wasn’t so good but it’s worth giving it a go as there aren’t lots of other options in Dunkeld.
