Two of our party had the Fish Pie, one had Moules and the other had Skate ( and Fresh Onion Rings) all agreed the meal was absolutely delicious. My granddaughter had the Sausage Child’s Meal and I have never seen such a generous portion. Great service, welcoming atmosphere and delicious food - a first class combination. We will return and recommend.
We love this place. We visit a couple of times year. Consistently great food and huge portions. The slow cooked shoulder of Romney lamb is to die for and our 12 year old daughter won’t have anything other than the lamb pie as she loves it so much (although she can never finish it). Staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is lovely. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Top marks all round.
Welcoming and friendly from the start. The food was great, local pint of Romney Marsh B12 was tasty and the sunshine in the garden made it perfect. This is the second time we have been to the Pilot and cannot recommend it highly enough. Dungeness is an unusual area of coastline but it is really special and I love it
Last time I visited was approx 25 years ago it was good then, it still is, my Brie starter was delicious & the large cod really was just that and for dessert ( I didn’t have one as I was too full ) I highly recommend the banoffie pie
My first visit to The Pilot was 7 years ago and I was actually hooked, the atmosphere was really welcoming and the staff were very friendly. I ordered Fish & Chips and loved the taste and presentation first class food and service. Definatly a place to visit if down Dungeness.
Absolutely fantastic lunch yesterday. Everything from restaurant, staff, cleanliness to the food arriving. Can definitely recommend the Moules
As always an excellent meal. The Pilot was busy even for a cold (ish) mid January Sunday. A bit of a wait for the food but more than made up for by the choice of ales on offer to while away the time . The food was everything we've come to expect at the Pilot, hot, tasty and plentiful.
First visit this weekend and can honestly say I love this place. The best fish and chips ever!!!!!
Had our meal there tonight, absolutely couldn't fault it. Incredibly fresh fish, not a speck of grease on the batter. Will definitely be heading back!
It was very nice to get out of the wet rain ,and into a cosy pub, staff were friendly and food was excellent ,will be recommended to others.
The best pub in my favourite place...
Home away from home...
Went with the family after it was recommended to us.... couldn't fault it. Great food and friendly helpful staff... can't wait to go back.
Friendly, fab food, good service, nothing less than expected and delivered. Great place loved my early birthday lunch x
This place is great !! Located right on the beach it was a really great end to our weekend sitting down outside as the sun sets. If you do finish your main course and do decide to go for the apple crumble, definitely go for custard and cream, Trust me you will love it.
Absolutely lovely family pub restaurant. We stumbled on it by accident whilst on holiday and have been back a couple of times. It is extremely well staffed and everyone is so helpful and polite. Tables are cleaned immediately and it is always busy but they do everything they can to find you a table quickly. The food is amazing and the portion sizes are extremely generous. They will happily give you extra plates and cutlery so you can share a meal. This is one of the best pub restaurants that I have visited!
Very nice restaurant on the only desert in the UK . As we are all 60+ we opted for the senior cod n chips, but that was more than enough, still struggled to eat it all. Only given 4* for the food as cod wasn't as white and flaky as would expect and batter soft in places. But overall excellent service and restaurant 👌 dog friendly and very nice.
Unique place, the fish was the largest fish i have ever been served and I am not exaggerating. It tasted clean and fresh and you could tell the oil used was regularly changed 10 out of 10
We visited here after being recommended. We had cod and chips and haddock, salad and chips. Both fish were enormous, salad was fresh and the chips were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We followed this somehow with the most amazing run and raisin ice-cream and coffee. Rob runs an amazing, traditional fish and chip restaurant, definitely worth visiting.
A very busy local restaurant well known by all and by many who travel great distances for their food. Big portions and cooked fresh. Mainly fish on the menu - but why would you order anything else when visiting this restaurant? There was a great selection of beers and drinks. There was also plenty of seating inside, and a beer garden has great views when the weather is on your side.
Staff were friendly and helpful. A great place to have a meal or drink and nice views out to the beach.
The Pilot Inn is a must at least once. Set on the edge of the dungeness desert, this place is quirky, spacious, and always full of people (If you are lucky, some furry, barky friends too). The service is always good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing, The menu is full of all foods for all people, and the bar is loaded with (probably) every drink you could imagine. Once finished, you can take a nice stroll along the shingle beach. You'll need to as the portion sizes are big and perfect. I, for one, will be going back again and again.

The food was delicious. We had for starters smoked haddock fish cake and Japanese king prawn.
For mains, we had the fish and chips and homemade dungeness fisherman pie, which was tasty and filling.
Superb food at great prices. Kept clean, dog friendly (separate area) and on a clear day you can watch the boats go by. Fish & Chips for the win, every time. And we've been 6 times now. Worth the drive, you will not be disappointed.
Oh wow. This place was amazing. Great location and the food was fresh and delicious. It was recommended to us and did not disappoint.
