Myself and friends had a very nice meal here. Word of warning: If you can't handle hot, spicy food, ask for the korma (which wasn't hot or spicy) or mention to the servers to tone the hottness down a bit, as the food marked spicy is very hot. The restaurant is tucked away up a small side street, which is on a hill, and there are steps inside the restaurant so people who are infirm or in a wheelchair might need assistance. The large set of stairs to the left in one of my photos leads up to the bus station. The servers were polite, prompt, and well presented. The prices were on par with similar establishments. There is on street parking for about 3 cars on Bruce Street (Council pay & display) and further parking across the road through the alleyway and down a stairway to the Glenbridge car park (again Council pay & display). Bus station 2min walk up the stairs outside.

First time here with the wife, and have to say it was really good. A very nice welcome from front of house, we assumed he was the owner. The portion size can not be knocked, quite the opposite to be honest. Didn’t have to wait long at all for the food to start arriving, but we were there at 1830hrs (6 pm). It’s a big restaurant and we felt a little lost at first until other customers started to arrive. Starters were hot, full of taste and bigger than I was expecting (I know for next time). Along came the main course and it was full of flavour and very hot. The house wines were not bad at all, we had a white & a red. Price was as expected, but it seemed to take for ever to pay the bill, having asked twice. The downer for the evening was my wife finding a hair in her starter. Which the owner tried to explain with “we don’t have any women working tonight”! If you see the colour of the wife and my hair, it could have been ours, may be 30 years ago. Will we go back? Yes we will

My favourite Indian in Dunfermline, hands down! A hidden gem tucked away, unassuming and easily missed. If you are the kind of person who looks inside a restaurant, sees it's empty and says that must be a sign, you couldn't be more wrong. I was guilty of the same scepticism once. The viceroy, however, will make you eat your words, as well as some proper quality curry! Vibrant, colourful curries, and lots of them to chose from! The naan breads are MASSIVE! Like, as big as my forearm massive! Peshawari naan alongside garlic chilli chicken masala (slightly hot) has never let me down. My only regret is that I didn't take a photo to share with you. Very friendly staff, great curries and portion sizes at reasonable prices, especially compared to another Indian in Dunfermline people probably know a lot better! Addendum; remembered my mate had taken a photo of my hand next to the Peshawari naan bread. So much and so tasty!

Can not recommend this restaurant enough, we have been a few times and every time the food is delicious, the portion sizes are good but don't worry if you can't finish your meal they are happy to box it up to take away. The staff are very welcoming and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Great place to eat.😀

Superb 3 course lunch @ £7.50. Food very tasty and extremely well cooked. Attractive restaurant and spotlessly clean. Good service and nice of owner to come over for a chat after we finished our meal. 3 of us visited on 29/4/17. Another excellent lunch. Still superb. 4 of us visited on 17/3/18 Another excellent lunch. Maybe even better than the last time. 3 of us visited on 1/12/18 Dinner for 2 last night, still superb.

Five of us were there tonight for family meal. The food was just first class as was everything. Naan bread and starters were fresh, just been cooked and brought to table. The atmosphere was lovely as were the staff. Frequented it occasionally throughout the years, but thought tonight it couldn't be topped..... Perfection. Home with doggy bag, which no dog will ever see. 🤩

Only ordered takeaway from here but its really good and worth the extra money. Decent portions and they don't hold back on the meat. Our last order was a little sub par with over cooked prawns and wrong lamb (I ordered normal lamb but got lamb tikka). Phoned in and they offered to redo the curries. 45mins later someone from the service team in restaurant came out and explained the error with the whole order redone for us! Bang on customer server right there and the curries were perfect 2nd time!

Sunday buffet is outstanding value for money. There is a good selection of starters and mains and the quality is excellent, which isn't always the case at buffets. The staff are very friendly too making it an nice experience. The desserts aren't anything to write home about but who goes to an Indian restaurant for dessert?
