Empire State Coffee Shop is a great little Cafe in Dundee City centre. Situated on Whitehall Crescent, just behind Malmaison Hotel and very close to the V&A museum, it has a great ambience and friendly staff. There was a lovely selection of fresh food, including Bagels, panini and a sourdough Croissant I really enjoyed. The pastries were huge and looked amazing, plus the coffee, which they have been blending and roasting for over ten years, was smooth but full of flavour. The cafe is well worth the visit and I was so impressed I went twice while attending the Dundee Jazz Festival.

This is a place that really tests your lindy. Ive been all around the place and Ive never found a good old fashioned brooklyn sammich like this one. Coffee was nice and packed a good punch, got me ready for the big day I had ahead of me. Only downside is the colour of the lights inside, too much blue should be yellow.

Chanced upon this amazing cafe in Dundee city centre. Great ambience for small group meets up and chit chat. The savoury pastries were amazing and the latte was aromatic. As you can see they have a wide variety of sweet and savoury pastries for your selection.

I don't usually leave a review but this place made me so happy! Delicious food and coffee in Dundee! I had to wait a bit but it was worth every minute :)

Found this place a month ago while passing through Dundee on the was back down to the central belt. The pastries, food, and coffee are all excellent. The coffee they roast is so good, I commuted up from the central belt to buy a bigger bag of beans. The staff are also all lovely and the cafe itself is nice. Not anything super fancy but still a lovely spot. I think I’ll be returning to Dundee just for this place :D

Fabulous spot for a coffee, sweet treat or a quick lunch. I have only taken away from here for lunch or a treat and the service has been quick and very friendly! The options for lunch are great and so yummy. My only recommendation, having a boyfriend who can't have cheese, would be to have 1 or 2 more options that don't contain cheese or lactose. Otherwise, it is a great cafe!

An absolute gem of a coffee shop, tucked away between the Waterfront & centre of Dundee, near Malmaison. One of few coffee places in Dundee to open at a sensible 7.30am (I can’t wait until 9am for coffee!!). Looks tiny from outside, but there’s actually plenty of space, including a clean & beautifully themed downstairs space, made to feel like a cross between an historic train carriage & New York subway station. Free Wifi. Great coffee & an astounding range of cakes & food, fairly Italian themed. Staff were busy but still polite & patient. Definitely worth a visit, to sit-in or takeaway.
