We came for a 3 night break, mid week in October. The idea was to relax and use the spa / gym facilities. Have a look around Dumfries and the surrounding area. The hotel is easy to find with a good sized car park. All the staff have been friendly and helpful. The restaurant has 5 or 6 main course choices and the food overall has been good. The breakfast is as expected, cooked and or cereal, fruit yogurt etc... Our room is a King and the bed is plenty big enough. The mattress is very hard though. I have to say there isn't a great deal to do in Dumfries. You can drive for less than an hour and find places of interest. Overall it hits the mark, 3 days relaxing in a nice hotel. If you are visiting Dumfries or the surrounding area I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our visit. Very clean. Food excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Some minor details could be better, such as more powerpoints in rooms, clearer signage to locate rooms from the small lift, printed drinks price list in the bar. Some of the decor is unusual - there's a preponderance of grey in some areas.

Stopped here with my fiance on the way to our wedding. The staff were amazing from the moment we walked through the door, so helpful and lovely to speak to. The food was delicious. The facilities were great and we had a lovely relaxing night. We will definitely book another stay here in the future. A massive thank you to all of your team from the reception, restaurant, gym and spa you were all so welcoming and gave us the most perfect start to our wedding weekend.

In the nicest possible way this is an exceptional hotel. All the services (room, etc) are delivered cleanly and efficiently. Two things lift this hotel to the next level and beyond. One, all the staff are extraordinarily helpful, in a very practical way. Two, dining is a total treat, with cheerful variance being made for coeliac guests. This is a hotel to stay in.

We have just been on a one night break in the Cairndale Hotel. Every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful. Our room was large, spotless and had everything we needed. (room 37, 4 poster bed). The added touch for our wedding anniversary was much appreciated. We ate in the restaurant and found the food excellent and the staff attentive. The leisure centre is free for guests and again it was spotless and the staff friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Dumfries.
