Must admit to finding this hidden gem by accident….. we were looking for somewhere special to have our wedding anniversary meal & Truffles did not disappoint!
We had a warm welcome from the owner & after being shown to our table, menu & drinks were offered straight away.
The food was was plentiful
Sadly they have now closed down, but if they ever reopen it’s excellent. (Aug 2023).

This bistro was exactly the kind of place we were hoping for when we stopped in Dumfries last Friday evening. Very good atmosphere and the food was delicious. Early bird deal meant we were just over £22 for 2 courses each and a drink. Great deal, especially for a Friday evening. Staff were excellent
Amazing food and lovely staff. The guy was so funny and really made it more enjoyable. The food was one of the best meals I have ever had. Lovely inside too.
We went for a meal tonight. Not busy. Had mushrooms starter and penne cardinal (bacon, mushrooms).
Hubby had carpaccio and penne with chicken. Both really enjoyed.
So recommended 5* as very nice.
Last weekend we were visiting Dumfries. We saw the reviews for the Truffels and went for our dinner on friday. The outside is a bit 'old' but inside it is very cozy (a bit warm and noisy, depends on who is in it :-)). The food was VERY good! The best tournedos ever (and we had some) and the chicken
Well I went to Truffles the other day for my birthday and it was amazing! I had a lovely meal with my girlfriend the staff really put on a good night for me. The food was amazing, The atmosphere was brill and it really made my birthday!!!
Limited menu but contains locally sourced produce that was extremely well cooked. Compact venue & has a great atmosphere which was created by the friendly owner & his staff. Very reasonably priced!👍
