The Steamboat Inn - Dumfries - Photo album

Claims to be the best pub in Dumfries and Galloway. After having lunch here, I can certainly see why. Food was delicious, smoked salmon to start and the seafood chowder for mains. I've not had pub food this good for a long time. Service was great too. Pub is very authentic with log fires and salm
We really enjoyed visiting, the food was excellent and the service was excellent. We visited twice. The first time we visited we had the chowder which was absolutely delicious probably my favourite dish I ate all week visiting southerness! Second time we had the seafood platter which was cooked to p
Just brilliant. Excellent food, great, attentive staff, lovely location. This pub is the antithesis of modern anti-septic corporate rubbish, plastic so called pubs we have forced upon us today. First class, well done folks..
We strolled here on chance, wanting some dinner we decided to try it and we were not disappointed. A very old fashioned pub with little trinkets on the walls makes great character for the pub. We sat outside with the view of the beach. Our food was out of this world, so fresh and so so tasty. The fi
We had a lovely lunch at the Steamboat. We had our dog with us and it was great we could bring her along. One of our party had a gluten intolerance and there was a good selection of food choices available. 3 of us shared the Seafood platter, which is a must if you love shellfish, and the other 4 ha

We had a great lunch as a large group - the food is excellent and really well cooked - the seafood was particularly good, including the (huge) mixed seafood platter, and the portions were generous. You can access the beach and walk off your lunch easily too - perfect. More than anythi

Lovely pub in a cracking location overlooking the water. Serving 2 ales from local Sulwath brewery in castle Douglas. Friendly staff. Has a good menu with specials. Booking is recommended. Has pool table and darts board. Allows stop overs for a fee. Space is limited so ring ahead. Recommended 🍻 🎯 🎱
During our week stay in the area we visited here twice for good. Once for lunch and again for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was great. Reasonably priced. Best of all it is incredibly dog friendly. Some lovely outdoor seating with a beautiful view.
Fantastic. We went for a meal on our ‘mini moon’ and we were very impressed. Excellent service; we were really well looked after all evening. The food was amazing - the seafood platter being exceptional, it was delicious, very fresh and well cooked. It was also very reasonably priced. We would defin
