This was a solid station to both arrive and depart at, with appropriate sized platforms for the trains! The design is neat, departure boards were up-to-date and the station sign is clear. It is easy accessible from the street and cleanliness had been maintained too!

Excellent Clean Station, well looked after, it has covered seating area sheltered away from the weather elements / rain / Snow etc & a seating room as well is a big plus. Other facilities ( a small cafe shop , phone booth, toilet , ticket office and ticket vending machines) Accessibility and mobility access is fairly easy. Billboard information service is clear and accurate for train arrival and departure timetables and you can also use the Scots Rail app on your phone.

Like most of the Stations on the West Coast Route and property of Network Rail, Dumbarton Central has it's good/bad points. . .🤔👌🏻👍🏻

Good to see the station buildings still surviving, and not bulldozed for the more usual Scotrail windswept tarmac strip. Retaining some period features, but little else. Small ticket office and heated waiting room on Platform 1, many seem to realise it’s not there. Taxis sometimes wait on Bankhead Road entrance.

Its a good Station. It has a sitting room, cover overhead in case it rains, and a small coffee shop that, besides hot drinks, also sells cakes, sweets, juice, painkillers, tissues, etc. My only advice is if you enjoy a flavoured latte (caramel, hazelnut, etc), ask the guy for just a little syrup and NO SUGAR.. He tends to make them undrinkably sweet.
