The people were so very nice I can't recommend them enough their afternoon tea was to die for absolutely beautiful X x
We booked to have afternoon tea at the sidings this Sunday past when everything was back in 1940's.
The afternoon tea was stunning....lovely sandwiches, small quiche each, scone with cream and jam as well as an abundance of fancy pieces.....so much that we had to take some home to finish them off!!!! Tea and coffe was refilled as needed and nothing was too much bother for the staff even though it was an exceptionally busy weekend.... Thank you so much Sidings 😘
Just had an amazing afternoon tea at the Sidings absolutely loved it & the staff are super lovely would highly recommend & will definitely be back. Thanks again
I have now been for lunch and a private dinner. All I can say is amazing. The staff, food, location and atmosphere was spot on and will recommend this to any one. Thank you Karen and your team for a lovely time and me and my family will be back
Well worth the three hour round trip for great coffee, delicious cakes and friendly service with lovely old-style music in the quirkiest of cafés!
Visited here today had lovely bowl of Lentil & bacon soup & bacon roll, very nice friendly service. Will be definitely recommending to friends & family.
Fantastic lunch. We sat outside as we had our dog with us. The staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and even had doggie treats! Lovely bacon roll and soup. We will be back!
We were doing the return trip from Keith and enjoyed a superb lunch at the Sidings. The soup was delicious and the sandwiches and baked potatoes perfectly presented and very tasty. We had made a table reservation in advance so as not to be rushed as the train is only in Dufftown for an hour and ten minutes or so. We were greeted in the most friendly fashion and we - and our wee dog (we ate at one of the platform tables - not inside) were looked after royally throughout the hour or so we were there.
The lattes were also very tasty - so even if you don't have time for a meal call in at the Sidings for coffee and one of the lovely cakes or tray bakes.
Thanks very much to all who looked after us so well. Looking forward to our next visit
Had a lovely afternoon tea today. Loads to eat, beautifully presented and just yummy homemade food. Highly recommended a visit. Staff were lovely. Thank you.

Perfect place with good food and good hospitality. Well worth a visit.
Such a wonderful place! Not just good food, but in a unique and quaint setting. Our party of 6 all enjoyed the soup and assorted tarts for dessert. The train car dining was such a unique experience with a beautiful view of the railway, and the decors and sighs are so fun to admire. The women who hosted us was so lovely! Gave us a nice recommendation to look at the nearby castle before heading out of town. Very much appreciated quick thinking accommodations & saved our lunch hunt with exceeding expectations. Prices were a good bargain. Strawberry tart is SO delicious <3
Nice wee cafe amongst the train carriages. We went a little late so not much of the specials left. Had their scone, quiche of the day, soup of the day and sandwiches. Leek and Tattie Soup was lovely. Quiche was nice and crumbly.
First visit here last week and we've booked again for this week. The Sidings has a lovely atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. The food is absolutely delicious, with excellent portions at very good prices. There are lovely home bakes to be tempted by too. Well worth a visit.
This place offered the holy grail - a really delicious, high quality afternoon tea. It was hands down the best I've had - in fact, my 11-year-old said it was the best *food* he's ever had.
Firstly, the welcome and service was warm and friendly, and the setting on a train felt super special. Then, the food - each person got their own plate of sandwiches and savoury bites; all were extremely flavoursome. The accompanying cake stand was filled with deliciousness - from a wicked Bailey's mousse to delightful tarts to scones with homemade jam.
We come to the area every year - we've never been to The Sidings before, but we will 100% make a pilgrimage here annually from now on.
I love this place. It's in an old railway carriage on the dufftown to Keith line. The cakes are absolutely to die for and I am not exaggerating.Their carrot cake is out of this world and one slice is enough for two people but they were clean out so i had the last piece of chocolate cake. The hot chocolate is made from a small block of pure Belgian choc which is on a stick. It's too rich for me so the lady gave me Cadburys powder. Definitely recommend 100%, they do afternoon teas as well.
A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere on our visit today.
The staff were really nice and welcoming.
The food was lovely and well presented.
Best jacket potato I had ever! And staffs are all sooooo cute!!! I’m too hungry to take a photo but if anyone get a chance pls have a taste on BBQ pork sauce with jacket potato🥺
Stopped for lunch here when visiting my brother. Sat outside first time with 3 dogs and they received treats and lots of attention. Had the quiche of the day and it was delicious. Plus a cake and tea. Lovely service and great value for money. So good, we went back the next day and sat inside - left the dogs with my brother.
Fab little space outside or quirky inside train carriage . Very friendly staff, home made cakes ..and huge portions of sandwiches and salads
Went here with some others from a walking group. Lovely welcome from Anya. We had lattes, coffee cake and carrot cake. Cakes were a wee bit dry but good size portions. We sat outside on benches as it was such a lovely day.
