Food was just okay, puddings were lovely… but the service from both ladies who dealt with us was amazing very quick, efficient, and helpful…. Thank you Mary and I didn’t catch the other ladies name sorry your service was outstanding.
We were sat down by a lovely friendly man named Connor He was fantastic and super accommodating for me and my girlfriend who has just undergone a knee operation. He stayed and chatted with us for a while despite the restaurant being relatively busy. Well done Connor we were really impressed by you and thought you deserved some praise.
Really nice place and very friendly staff. The vegetarian dishes my guest tried to order weren't there and my guest had to go with fish and chips.
I went with sirloin medium well, and it was really good. Juicy and tasty as what I had expected to be. The cheese was yumm! The fish and chips was also decent. No complaints.
Only downside to the whole experience was the weird smell and was mildly pungent. Addressing that would make the customer's experience much better.
Table was ready for us and person who showed us to table was polite. Server was attentive, pleasant and professional. Salad bar was well stocked and everything tasted fresh. Overall the food ordered was good, however the salmon and dill fishcakes was a little 'greasy'. Overall, a very pleasant visit.
Did book a table but restaurant was very quiet. Seated immediately and waiter came to take the drinks order. Came back about 15 minutes later for food order. Helped ourselves to salad and food arrived about 15 minutes later. Presented
well. Steak was cooked rare as I ordered and Cajun chicken breast was flavoursome and juicy. Jacket potato was crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, all in all a good experience.
Big place lots of tables inside and outside. Table service only but it was really quick and servers very attentive. We weren't that hungry so decided to have the 4 plate tapas to share. Nachos, hot wings, breaded shrimp and jalapeno poppers. All excellent especially the poppers. We really enjoyed our time here and if ever in the area we would definitely visit again.
Visited yesterday to celebrate my son’s birthday, overall experience was amazing. I have a family of picky eaters and our needs were taken care of without any problems. Our server ‘Penny’ was really helpful, kind and professional, nothing was too much trouble for her. We will definitely be returning soon.
Lovely waiter today, food came out so quickly we were expecting to wait a little bit but honestly we hadn't even finished our salad bowls! Food was delicious as always

The service is great the lad serving our table was polite, adviced us on food and funny too. He was excellent just sorry we didn't note his name. All the staff were lovely.
Had a lovely meal here last night, with many thanks to Connor who served our table impeccably. With 7 of us, including two fully deaf people and two wheelchairs, he had his hands full but was patient and considerate throughout!
The food was delicious, typical Harvester quality and the puddings were to die for. Connor really went to the extra degree to make sure everything was perfect for us and it made it a very special night!
His service would definitely make me want to visit again and highly recommend the restaurant for those with disabilities.

I don't often leave reviews but when you receive great service it feels only fair to say 'Thank You' and to let others know just how good the staff are at Castlegate Harvester. We popped in for a late dinner at around 8:30pm and were looked after the entire night by the amazing Conor who has also served us many times before in the past and is always courteous and even helped me chose the best steak available on the menu (Thanks again Conor, the sirloin was truly superb as recommended!) Honestly the service we recieved tonight was the icing on the cake and it made our meal and evening out that much better. Very much looking forward to dropping in again soon and only hope Conor is on shift again to greet us. Thanks again Conor, truly appreciated mate! :)
Food was lovely but service was even better. Connor was a brilliant waiter and was very helpful with my partners lactose intolerance.

Fish and chips very nice and beer was quite good.The salad bar was nice aswell with plenty of fresh salad and pasts to choose from,and also the sauces were good aswell especially the kicking garlic sauce
Saturday night at 7pm. Busy restaurant. But Jack made us feel like we were his only customers. Wicked sense of humour and an eye on the ball. Plenty of choices at the salad court. Food was amazing as usual. Definitely the best Harvester around.
