I dined at the Lodge for afternoon tea for a friends 80th birthday party. It was fantastic! I have specific dietary requirements and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate them. At no point did I feel deprived of anything! I enjoyed a delicious selection on sandwiches and desserts, it was such an enjoyable treat! I would highly recommend them for any special occasion! The staff are extremely kind and friendly, a delight to dine here!
We had our wedding reception at the lodge and it was exactly how We pictured it to be! Fantastic communication from Judith and staff with regards to food, drink and decorations! Had a wonderful cream tea and hot buffet... food amazing, dj fantastic, staff friendly and the drink kept flowing! Amazing day... fantastic value for money... they day couldn't have gone any better!!!

We had our wedding reception here. Excellent customer service staff were friendly and helpful. The room was decorated beautifully with everything we asked for and more. Excellent food very tasty and well presented. Good value for money. Could not fault the place at all. Highly recommend.

It is a brilliant place to eat. The food is fabulous, and the staff can't do enough to help customers, but always keep at a distance, and do not rush people out of the door. Great food, great venue, very good value for money. We had a lovely evening there in great company.#

1 year yesterday we had our beautiful wedding reception at The Lodge. Last night we celebrated our 1 year anniversary and the meal/service and personal touches were amazing. Thank you so much to all the staff that helped make our anniversary meal so special. Highly recommemded
The brightest, most comfortable and the staff make it the most efficient. Carvery always very good, 3 meats and a big choice of fresh cooked vegetables. Hot and cold deserts served with custard, cream or ice cream. Never tire of going to The Lodge where we are treated like friends.
Thank you to James and all the staff who looked after us last night for my mum Vera's 90th Birthday celebration. The food was fantastic and everyone had a great time. Our phone hasn't stopped ringing this morning with everyone saying how much they enjoyed themselves. Thanks again. Xx
Had the carvery yesterday at club meeting . Huge choice of meats and vegetables .The desserts were amazing , so much choice .Staff very friendly and accommodating .

My husband and I had a lovely lunch time meal at the Lodge ( shipways).The carvery was so very nice and beautiful cooked. The desert had plenty of choice, I had apple pie and custard which was delicious, my husband had the jam sponge 😋 which was delicious 😋
The staff where all very nice and helpful and friendly. The atmosphere in there was really nice 👍🙂
I would definitely recommend for people who have never been there, to go there you will not be disappointed. We wilI going back there again very soon. Thank you to the management and all their staff

What can I say.? As always we had a great lunch, 5 of us celebrating an 84th birthday. There is only 1 place to go for the best food, service and atmosphere.
Well got to give this place a 11 out of 10 .
Don't expect any major refinery. This is good honest Sunday roast & the target audience is definitely mature .
Went for mum in laws birthday lunch so large group 13/14 . The service was brilliant so a big thankyou if your reading!! the front of house gentleman was very professional & did over his brief .
Food was fantastic in quality , portion size and value for money .
I can honestly say this was as good if not better than places we've payed over £50 a head .
Choice of on tap beer / lager is not extensive but backed up with some better bottled beer . We will be using again !! & while we was there booked another large party birthday dinner . The extra slice or two of meat with no quibble goes a long way ..
Just got to mention the added gravy with mushroom and onion was a winner .. they did have a classic gravy too

Went to the lodge for a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. I have been there many times and as always the food was beautiful, the staff efficient friendly and cheerful, and the atmosphere created very fitting for the celebration.
Had a superb lunch here today to celebrate my Dad’s 80 th birthday.The food is superb but more excellent are the amazing staff.They were fantastic.Will return without hesitation soon.Thank you so much
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, and the food was very tasty and substantial. I didn't have room for dessert, sadly, so can't comment on that. Excellent value carvery ~ less than a tenner !
May 2023 : held Mum's funeral wake here, and nothing but gratitude for staff, food and service.
Staff were 1st class nothing was too much trouble food was good and hot food was hot so 5 stars from my wife and me thank you for a marvellous time

Love this place! The staff are just like family and nothing is ever a problem. Came for a family celebration and the staff were amazing. You never leave here hungry(or grumpy)
