One of many beautiful functions from the lodge. Thankyou for a wonderful afternoon for my baby shower with wonderful food and staff as always❤️. Nothing is ever too much trouble & everything is always so perfect. Thankyou as always :)
My husband and I had a lovely lunch time meal at the Lodge ( shipways).The carvery was so very nice and beautiful cooked. The desert had plenty of choice, I had apple pie and custard which was delicious, my husband had the jam sponge 😋 which was delicious 😋
The staff where all very nice and helpful
What can I say.? As always we had a great lunch, 5 of us celebrating an 84th birthday. There is only 1 place to go for the best food, service and atmosphere.
Well got to give this place a 11 out of 10 .
Don't expect any major refinery. This is good honest Sunday roast & the target audience is definitely mature .

Went to the lodge for a 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. I have been there many times and as always the food was beautiful, the staff efficient friendly and cheerful, and the atmosphere created very fitting for the celebration.
Had a superb lunch here today to celebrate my Dad’s 80 th birthday.The food is superb but more excellent are the amazing staff.They were fantastic.Will return without hesitation soon.Thank you so much
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, and the food was very tasty and substantial. I didn't have room for dessert, sadly, so can't comment on that. Excellent value carvery ~ less than a tenner !
May 2023 : held Mum's funeral wake here, and nothing but gratitude for staff, food and service.
Staff were 1st class nothing was too much trouble food was good and hot food was hot so 5 stars from my wife and me thank you for a marvellous time
We were guests at a wedding reception from 4pm till closing
Love this place! The staff are just like family and nothing is ever a problem. Came for a family celebration and the staff were amazing. You never leave here hungry(or grumpy)
