It's the first time we have had a Sunday roast dinner here and it won't be the last.
We went around 6.00pm and there was plenty of room. The staff were exceptionally friendly and let us choose our table.
Despite it being quiet the carvery was well stocked but most unusually there were no carrots! So we docked it a star, that will teach you!
I should add it back as the beef was the best we have had in a very long time, lean and tender, and not dried out, please note Mr Toby. There was nothing wrong with anything else either, even the broccoli seemed to have more taste than usual, this and a rich gravy, what's not to like?
It's not cheap but I still thought it was good value for money.
Too full for a dessert, perhaps next time. Nice red wine and Sunbeam ale, plus a relaxed atmosphere made it almost perfect.
Two weeks later and we did return, and yes they had carrots! The beef wasn't as tender as last time but I guess you can't have everything. It's now 5 stars as I haven't had a better carvery recently, however I am open to suggestions.
Excellent value for money carvery, with a good selection of vegetables to accompany it and a choice of gravy. Absolutely can't fault the service, upon arrival we were greeted and welcomed being directed to our table.
My friend I was with had mobility issues and the staff offered to carry her meal to the table for which I was grateful so I could choose my own and didn't struggle.
Even then they carefully cleared the table, checking if we wanted anything else.
Upon leaving we needed a disabled toilet which was sadly upstairs, but even this was handled with courtesy as they opened the function room where access was much easier.
Didn't know the function room was even there but it was beautifully decorated out.
Had a great joke with the chef and staff. Not local but definitely be back and worth going out the way for.
Good old fashioned customer service still exists at the Dudley Arms. Thanks.

Took the family for a carvery and we were not disappointed. Plenty of tasty food and lots of choice.
The queue system is great. You get a ticket and wait for your number to come up before you go up for food. Stops there being a constant long queue
The food was absolutely first class. All of the staff really friendly and helpful the atmosphere was lovely lots of families there enjoying themselves. Spend person it was 2020
Came here for my sons birthday, excellent service, the carvery girls was very warm and welcoming. Plenty of food for the price, couldn't eat it all so was offered take away box's. Well done
Went for a Sunday carvery well the money 6 vegetable s to choose from 3 meat and gravy was very tasty. Very friendly staff plenty of seats and room your not cramped. Will go there again and would highly recommend 👌
Upon arrival for our first visit to this pub today we thought oh this is rather busy after getting a last minute booking for 14 of us, we walked in and I was greeted by a lovely member of staff called samantha! Who was so pleasant and bubbly, just what I like to see in customer service, we ordered our food and drinks and as stated this was a very busy pub, we barely had to wait for food. And when the food arrived at the table it was presented beautifully, with no complaints from the fussy children, the staff went above and beyond to deliver my dad's birthday cake to our table! All smiling and happy. What a pleasant place to be and eat! Thankyou to all the staff for making my dad's birthday so memorable, we will be returning frequently!
Food was overall very good. A wait of 40 minutes for specific meals not an issue. Disappointing for me as only pork available on the carvery. Did not expect to get the left overs.
1 desert ordered had not arrived after 20 minutes puzzling that there was only us left.
Was given x2 deserts as take away as we had to leave.
I got the impression the late clean up was more important than the last 'guests'
Went yesterday 8th October 2023 for a family birthday celebration, we booked for 14 people but a extra two turned up . The lady shift manager moved our party into the Dudley room to allow us to accommodate the extra two people . Excellent food , brilliant service, and above and beyond service from the manager to make our day special, thankyou very much .
Lovely breakfast. Bacon done 2 ways, cooked and crispy, sausages are tasty and meaty. Black pudding good and eggs cooked a few at a time so they don't go hard under the lights. Beans, tomatoes, fried bread and toast complete the meal.
Good carvery, menu items also well presented. Team were very friendly and helpful. Menus not out had to ask for them and same with desserts. Will return
Arrived 10 mins early, they were very busy, just about managed to find parking space as a car was leaving, we’re greeted at the door and told they were opening upstairs carvery and would we mind going upstairs, waited a few minutes at bar and were told carvery not quite ready but we’re shown to our table, we’re kept well informed and looked after by Samantha and Chris, absolutely first class service and carvery was excellent !!
First time I've ever been here - quite simply the best carvery I've ever had!! Food was delicious, beautiful meat, plenty of choice of veg & friendly staff - especially the carver - Anne Marie
