Came here for a birthday lunch and the food did not disappoint, not only were the portion sizes generous but it was equally as delicious. Service was very slow for a Wednesday lunch time waiting 25 minutes for food and my brother ordering 10 minutes after us waiting 45 minutes for food. Other than that, food is great and drinks went down nicely.
Just popped into this pub for a break and a soft drink, and while we were in their we grabbed some food, and WOW, it was lovely tasted fantastic good prices and the service was second to none, Thanks to all the Staff and see you all soon.

Went in at lunchtime with my toddler for something to eat. Purchased the cheese pie and children's Chicken nuggets. Both plates were absolutely delicious. Staff were super friendly. Only a 10/15 minute wait after ordering. Very happy to make adaptions to my order changing peas to Beans on my dish and swapping an item on my sons plate with an alternative. We were allowed to sit where we wanted and had a lovely experience. I understand the pub is under new management and my 4 stars instead of 5 is because of a few improvements I would suggest that would make the experience better. They are -
More vegetarian options. Looking at the menu I think they could very easily have more vegetarian options without having to change the menu. For example Sausage and Mash could have a veg alternative if they served both pork and quorn Sausages. The fish and chips could have a a fishless Fillet or halloumi filet. The katsu curry could have a quorn Chicken alternative or just have a plain katsu option.
Myself and other customer tables asked for Mayo with their food so maybe just have the bottle on the table with the other condiments provided.
The outdoor play area could really do with an upgrade. The current climbing frame has seen better days. I think a new climbing frame and perhaps a swing would be wonderful especially with summer coming
I think the children's menu was quite expensive considering it doesn't include a drink. £7 for just the main meal means I probably wouldn't come here regularly as its not budget friendly. The last 10+ cafes/pubs I've visited usually charge around £6 for kids and this includes a main, side, drink and dessert. For example there's another food establishment 5 minutes away who provides this children's deal for £4.50
It would be nice to have a lunchtime deal menu. Perhaps main course and a drink for £10 or two main courses for £15 or buy one get one half price. Possibly an early bird offer between 12-3pm weekdays. Something along those lines.
These are only little things that I think could make a great improvement. Overall the food, staff and atmosphere was amazing. Its just not a pocket friendly place at the moment for myself personally so I'd only pop in once in a while at present as a treat
I've been here quite a few times, now I wouldn't want to eat out anywhere else. The food is outstanding compliments to the talented chef, my food once again amazing. He obviously takes pride in his work. Milly served me once again and what an absolute sweetheart, professional and prompt. Lovely atmosphere. 10/10.

We walked in on the off chance of grabbing a bite to eat. It was very busy but they found us a table for 2 and explained there might be a wait however we were tucking into our gorgeous food within 45 mins. The food itself was delicious and well presented. The waiting staff were courteous and very friendly especially Izzy.
Took my Auntie for lunch, first of all we was greeted and seated by a lovely lady called Tina who had My Auntie and I smiling and feeling relaxed within seconds, very polite and nothing was too much trouble. I had the homemade steak and Ale pie, and it did not disappoint! Every mouthful was tastier than the last, and the chips was light and fluffy, my auntie had a steak baguette, done to perfection, the desserts were delightful too. We will definatley be returning, compliments to Jordan the chef, 10/10... manners, politeness, and the food was absolutely gorgeous.. we will definatley be returning.. thank you Jordan and Tina for making our visit a good one
Came tonight for tea, staff have are amazing, so friendly and polite.
Had the steak sandwich and sausage and mash both really nice burgers looked amazing, will be back again soon.
Lovely home cooked food, really enjoyed starters and mains from the new chef! Nice and Friendly staff, looking forward to my next meal 👍
We went in to try the new menu after the pub had changed owners. The food was lovely,the staff were brilliant, especially Siobhan who was very friendly,attentive and couldn't do enough for us.
Excellent food at a good price. Family pub, with a range of children's options on the menu. Good range of beers with friendly staff.
Only came in for some lunch was really nice much better then it used to be nicely priced to always a bonus when u can bring your dog
Not been in the Pig for about 20 years and it's looking better now it's opened up and more open plan, using up the old toilet space. Called in randomly while we were in the area and lots of outside seating, a welcoming entrance and friendly bar staff and Reggie the guard dog 🐕 looking for some attention. Didn't try the food if it's still on, but we'll be calling back sooner than another 20 years to enjoy the proper local pub atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Really nice little pub. We only had time for one drink and done chips but will definitely go back. Plenty of outdoor space and really nicely laid out inside. Very good price for our drinks too.
