Visited yesterday for lunch and was amazed as a Coeliac at the extensive separate Gluten Free menu they have got...including ales! The food was fantastic, staff so friendly and helpful and the Hadley Bowling Green itself really is a hidden gem...what a lovely place to visit and will be staying there in December too....can't wait!

An excellent evening made all the better by the wonderful menu options and the extremely attentive staff. Despite numerous questions, the manager and his staff were friendly, fun and informative. We felt thoroughly looked after and as always I would recommend this place highly for service, food, drink and facilities! We will visit again soon!

We booked a long weekend stay for a friends wedding locally. We found it most welcoming with lovely rooms - we chose to dine in the first night and the food was fantastic and highly recommend the pie of the day (beef brisket in red wine and horseradish gravy). The staff are attentive without that annoying in your face feeling. Breakfast was ace with a great choice of both hot and cold food. Once again service was spot on. The bar area is spread over several rooms that offers a lovely feeling of privacy yet with out the feeling of being out of the way. A really homely feel and we are already thinking of when we can return for another visit.

Our second trip here. Cannot rate the staff more highly. Super friendly and attentive. Dog lovers too - always supplying water for our pugs and even had specially cooked chicken for a fussy eater. The human food is exceptional, as is the service. Specials change daily and make dinner selections the only difficulty. The full English breakfast definitely deserves a mention - the bacon is the best we've ever tasted and the coffee strong and free-flowing. The manager is a gem and let us sample the IPA's before chosing our favourite pint; of which we had several. Location is superb - quiet and secluded yet ideal for jumping on the main roads. The beer garden is a joy in warm weather and it was a treat to sit out and listen to the sound of nothing whilst enjoying a glass of red. We will be back. Thank you xxx

We have stayed at Hadley bowling green for the night in the lodges out back. The rooms were lovely and cosy, nice and clean. But have to say Chris who was on duty was amazing as was his team. We arrived after food stopped being served but when we spoke to Chris and explained that we had two family members who needed to eat due to health reasons he quickly spoke to the Chef who agreed to get us all some sandwiches and chips. He also agreed for us to have breakfast in the room for one of us, and his staff delivered to the room in the evening ready for the morning. He also agreed for us to have a later departure due to medical reasons. We cannot speak highly enough of this place and it's team, this was customer service at its highest. We would recommend Hadley bowling Green to anybody and would definitely stay there again. Keep up the good work guys from The Whites and family.

Our second visit- this time with our cockerpoo puppy. It was as wonderful as ever with a great room, treats for Jonah and super friendly, helpful staff. The breakfasts are fabulous, local walks plentiful and the best nights sleep we've had for ages! Thank you- we'll be back. Jonah will silk when he doesn't get a sausage for breakfast tomorrow!!!

Sorry this has taken so long to post! I just wanted to say a massive belated thank you to Kat and the rest of the staff at Hadley. We stayed at the Hadley Bowling Green the night before our wedding in sept 17 and couldn’t have been happier!! Kat was so helpful, accommodating and always kept me up to date on emails. Nothing was ever too much trouble. All our guests commented on the quality of food, both the breakfast and in the restaurant and said how wonderful there stay was. So thank you so much!! Absolutely recommend this B&B!

Fab Sunday lunch.....and warm welcome and great service - and for those fellow coeliacs out there - the place is coeliac society accredited and thus offers a superb choice for us gluten free'ers. We will most definitely be back x

We did a family Sunday lunch in the bar (4 of us plus our toy poodle). The service was friendly and efficient, the food was surprisingly good (choice of roast) and the price fair. This is a lovely English country pub and I would be very happy to take visitors, including from overseas, to eat there.

We stayed overnight on the way to the Lake district, the pub is close to the M6 but in a lovely rural setting. The room was very comfortable and large. The breakfast was great and the whole experience was good value for money. `Butcombe bitter outstanding! Stay only marred by a somewhat ordinary evening meal.

An excellent Inn and the whole visit was without fault. The room was perfect, down to the smallest detail and the evening meal was varied and both meals we had were delicious. The breakfast in the morning by the log fire in the bar was the final excellent touch. I would certainly return when in the area.

The staff are very pleasant and the room was very nice. For the evening meal we started by sharing calamari, followed by my wife having the flat iron steak, and I the fishcakes. The calamari was very good and the steak was apparently also very good, the fishcakes were found wanting more sauce as the dish was dry and required regular sips of drink between mouthfuls. We had eggs Benedict for breakfast and this was very good. We would definitely stay here again 👍

Great pub location and atmosphere. Couple of things not available on the menu and a long wait for mains although other tables seemed not to be delayed. Food was tasty but the wait was disappointing as appeared couple of the dishes had been kept warm while waiting for others. Would still return as staff all friendly and service usually much more efficient.

I worked here over twenty years ago and even though some of the modifications over the years are not my particular taste, this remains one of the most lovely pubs/restaurants in the area. Nothing beats sitting in the gardens on a sunny day while the bowlers enjoy the crown green lawn and the kids play on the wooden playground obstacles. I haven't had the food on this visit, but I will and I am sure, from a quick look at the menu that it will be excellent. Phil gave solid service and is local to the area and knowledgeable on the history of the place and the fare on offer.

We only stopped for 1 night to break a long car journey. Nice room, friendly service, good beer and good food. Peaceful surroundings, just 10 mins or so from the M5 by car.

We have just enjoyed a Sunday lunch for 6 for our first visit. The inn itself is lovely and the staff could not have been better. The roast was really good and came quickly - and who can resist a yummy pudding !!
