What a fantastic pub! Just back from a couple of days away with friends and we were told about this pub due to them being dog friendly (tap room only). Cannot recommend this place enough, friendly staff, great service, EXCELLENT FOOD!! We went three times during our two days and were never disappointed (even got breakfast cooked for us at noon just because we mentioned we had not had breakfast yet) always gave us water for the dogs and everyone came over to fuss them. We will definitely be gong back to this little corner of Yorkshire and will defiantly be making a beeline for this pub again thanks guys, you definitely made our stay at Dacre Lakes!
We had a beautiful Sunday Dinner, the Yorkshire puddings were out of this world and the landlord gave me advice on how to make them the same.
I thought the whole experience was amazing, staff so friendly and welcoming, the food best I ever eaten and in all I highly recommend it �

Fantastic place. The girl Mel behind the bar couldn't have done anymore 4 us. We phoned 2 see if we could bring our little dog & within 5 mins we were in. Lovely selection of beers lovely food. No one could ever fault this place. Well done all of you especially Mel who made us very welcome. We will be back.

A fantastic family friendly pub!!!! Can not believe the last review....don’t take any notice of it!!! We have three children and eat here regularly. They couldn’t be made more welcome. We were here last night and our 7 year old was laid down with her feet up and a cushion behind her head on the sofa at one of the tables after our meal and the landlord tried to start a pillow fight with her!! A real home from home atmosphere. The food is wonderful and so reasonably priced. A family run business and the staff can’t do enough for you. Quote of the year from our youngest who was recently taken for Sunday lunch at a rather posh Golf Club in Pocklington: “I don’t like these Chicken Goujons they’re not like the nice ones at The Black Swan!”

I was here last year. And we would defo recommend the pods. The food in the pub is to die for as well, very friendly staff. Top weekend.
Back again as we had an amazing meal earlier in the week. Tonight's meal was just as nice. Massive portion and all home made. Staff make u feel very welcome. One of the nicest pubs we have been in. 5*.
Fantastic night in the black swan! We stayed at the Dacre Lakeside holiday park and walked over. Small menu but everything you would expect for pub grub. Food was lovely and good selection of beers! 👌🏼

Had early dinner here this evening, good honest food well prepared and presented. Excellent quality and marvellous value. We got a lovely welcome when we arrived. Our first time and it won't be the last. See you again soon.

Went with my husband for Sunday lunch. I had Pork and he had Beef. Meat lovely and tender and all the veg and mashed potato delicious. Lovely home made Yorkshire puds and proper tasty gravy.
Great experience at the black swan today for Sunday lunch. Emily and Asa was both so polite and helpful in every way possible. Especially with partner being vegan they did their best to cater for her. So polite and the food was spot on. Will definitely return. Thanks again!
A great village pub in Brandesburton, a nice cosy traditional bar and a separate large Lounge. Good selection of beers, larger, and ciders, including handpulled cask conditioned real ales. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Sometimes, during the summer months, there are classic car meetings.
So glad they have a new chef and food is back on. Missed eating here.
Waitress was lovely and really pleasant. Have a 9month old baby and she went above and beyond to intract with her and pick her toy up 🙈
Had garlic mushrooms for a starter, was lovely and hot.
Had pie for a maim, was amazing, others had a roast and they really enjoyed it.
Will definitely be back again.
Two good evening meals there this week, kind and considerate staff, made me feel very welcome.
The swan on the pastry was a nice finishing touch to a yummy pie. Some veg with the delicious sausages would have been good, but I didn't say anything and huge portion of potato!

Great service, the pub is lovely and warm and it's also dog friendly.
Amazing homemade food to a really high standard and amazing service from the staff. Had roast dinner on mothers day visited on the off chance could fit us in last minute and it was great. Will be coming back here again! Thank you :)
Great pub that still had that traditional pub feel, with a lovely atmosphere and a fantastic team, food is top notch and you’re always welcomed by Mark and the staff, the locals as well. A really super place to visit !!

Went on holiday and called in twice. Great staff, very friendly pub. Dog friendly too. Can't comment on food as only went for a couple of drinks.

A very welcoming pub, Holly behind the bar is very professional and a lovely lady.
The outside beer garden is clean and nice to sit in especially if the sun's out 🌞
Not to mention the food is delicious 😋 well presented dishes & extremely tasty too.
We've visited a few times recently and have had beautiful food every time. Particularly enjoy the starters that can be had as tapas plates, and the main meals we've had have also been delicious, especially the steak pie! Had a pud last night too and that was amazing. Will be coming again next week and looking forward to trying something else on the menu. The staff are really lovely and have made us feel very welcome - super cosy pub that has soon become our regular!
