The Goat At Downton - Downton - Photo album

Each time I have been to The Goat it has been a very good experience. They serve a good variety of food for all tastes and balance the pub classics well with more innovative menu items. The bar is large, well stocked and manned by staff who are friendly and helpful. Just like the menu, the furnishin
Great experience. Menu was varied and when the food arrived was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. We hadn't booked in advance but were able to find a table. Not cheap but worth the price paid.
Lovely pub for a meal outside in the sun. We had the pork roast for Sunday lunch. The roast was very tasty along with a generous helping of vegetables and compliments alongside. Highly recommend a visit.
Stumbled across this delightful place. Waited a while for the fish and chips, but it was worth it. Sliders did not look like a full meal. My son-inlaw said they were tasty but still felt hungry afterwards.
Delightful country, village pub. I was told it was under new management, and greatly improved. I was there with a group of 20, in a booked side room. The food, curries, was exceptionally cooked and delicious. Almost as good as my wife's home made curries (which set a very high bar). On the nig
Great pub, beautifully presented inside and out and retaining its character. Very good service from all staff and food was lovely too. An added bonus were the complimentary roast potatoes whilst listening to a jazz band outside in the garden. (Roast potatoes and jazz on the first Sunday of the mon
Lovely place, at least 2 good sized bar areas which are dog friendly. Staff were very nice. Good selection of food choices and as vegetarians there were at least 4/5 choices for main which was great. Had a mixture of small bites for starter (cauliflower pop corn went down well! Halloumi fries and ga
Went on the way past (on the off chance) after a local recommendation. The place is huge inside. The decor was fresh The gardens were spacious. There's plenty of parking Luckily it was quiet when we went so we were served quickly. The staff were very friendly. The food was very good It would have
Lovely pub but a shame about the lack of staff allergy training. We we're nearly served alllergens despite telling staff we had allergies in our group.
We have had two good experiences here whilst on holiday. Very good service, nice beers on tap. Variation to the menu, excellent staff, good children's menu, welcoming atmosphere, hot, good food.
Came here after a 5 mile walk around Downton, nice atmosphere and great food, a little on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. A big place with plenty of seating and a back garden for choice.
Bonfire night spectacular very well organised would recommend you save the date in next year's diary well worth the visit
Nice decor and atmosphere, which had been further decorated in an Easter theme which was a nice touch! Plenty of parking around the back of the pub and a lovely doggy shelf on entry with supplies to clean and dry dogs after muddy walks - and even treats! Good drink selection with non alcoholic opti
Lovely food, friendly staff and a nice cosy atmosphere. Love the fire pit in the eve
Lovely food, the parmasan and Marmite fries are to die for, good local beers and nice wine in a good atmosphere.
Amazing service, lovely staff and the food was great. Great options for vegetarians, and I thoroughly recommend the Crispy Cauliflower Tacos
