The Bull hotel has recently been taken over and refurbished by Mike and Emily. They were really welcoming and we had a lovely double bedroom, simply furnished but capturing the lovely old building. A simple continental breakfast is provided, but we decided to sample a mini cooked breakfast. It was d
Happened to be in the area at lunchtime so dove in. Very friendly, attentive staff sat us in the rear garden, in the sunshine. The food was delicious, well cooked and seemed to be local produce which is most excellent indeed!
Great pub.
Bar staff did a sterling job dealing with a field full of volleyball players and the food was prompt and tasty.
The fact that Wales beat England in the rugby was an added bonus.
We came here for breakfast one morning and the hospitality was amazing! Kind, polite and friendly and was always there to meet our needs. The food was absolutely stunning, possibly the best breakfast I’ve ever had! We were catered to perfectly and I would recommend this place to anyone. 10/10!!
Quiet visit for late lunch food freshly prepared personally would have prefered fresh bread. Can understand reason why however
We recently went to The Bull at Downton for a Sunday roast. The food far exceeded our expectations - the beef was exceptional and the locally grown selection of veg was superb. Don’t be put off by the slightly rustic appearance, this place has lovely service and a cracking roast!
Nothing is to much hassle. Food is amazing 5 star service rooms are perfect has all the perfect features you will expect in a grade 2 listed hotel .charger points in car park and most helpful staff you can wish for highly recommended a visit hounest hardworking team to make a good experience.
A very nice, large pub at the junction in the village. Three very new EV rapid chargers in the car park. Excellent coffee served while I waited 20 mins for a car charge. The range of beers on offer was good and there was a friendly group in there around tea time watching the cricket on TVs. T
I visited The Bull Hotel for lunch on Friday 8 November 2019 in the late afternoon, a weekday during term time. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. The pub/hotel is easy to find at the crossroads on the main road through Downton.
I parked in the hotel car park which had plenty
Had the most Exquisite Hog Roast, & they are super friendly even wrapped one up for my mum
Amazing clean tidy rooms , lovely place. Friendly locals & staff will definitely return. Was made to feel really welcome :)
Breakfast was a bit hit and miss but evening meal was very good
Stayed for 3 nights
Lovely place. Nice selection of food and drink on offer. Well situated for both salisbury and the new forest. B&B rooms are avaliable aswell.
Very clean. Lovely barman who was charming and chatty, very accommodating to myself and the gentleman that I had with me who has poor mobility. Even though we didn't eat, what came out of the kitchen looked lovely ( hence the 4 stars) . I will return to eat and make it a five on my next visit
A beautiful hotel with very friendly and attentive staff. Despite being very busy they were always happy, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Friendly pub. Stopped off on our way home. Food was delicious, good size portions too. Dog friendly🐶
Popped in for something to eat. The best Hunters chicken, very well cooked. Black pudding sausage and mash delicious!
Will def call in again.
We came to stay in Downton for just one night and wandered down to the bull.
We were greeted warmly by Harley the dog then Darren and Michelle the owners.
Great service, great drinks and a warm friendly environment in a lovely traditional setting.
A nice place to while away the evening.
We will
