The Wooden Spoon - Downton - Photo album

What a little hidden gem between Salisbury and Bournemouth. Lovely friendly welcoming staff, exceptional food with so much choice all freshly cooked and you could tell and so reasonably priced! Just wonderful in every way! Can’t recommend highly enough.
A very nice family run pub, not too expensive the only downside was I had the pie and a bit of veg (half of the amount in the photo as they put 2 sides of veg in one) but it didn't fill me up needs to be a bigger portion, apart from that it was delish!.
Always a friendly place that you feel at ease with. The menu is extensive so spoilt for choice. We had the goat curry and throughly enjoyed it. Glenford is a great host. Kevin and Jane.
Went here today, had an amazing meal, as good as a lot of restaurants. We will be back! Very bright comfortable, very nice garden, good service
Great pub, lovely friendly staff, food excellent and great value, exceptionally taste, cooked to order and attentive chef. Highly recommended for a great meal.
Traditional pub serving great food and one of the best places for a decent pint from the pump.
Very welcoming. Excellent service and lovely food. Easy parking an added bonus.
Loved the atmosphere and the food was really tasty. We had salmon with a sauce, tarragon I think and a gammon steak
Great food good choice not over priced, service good and friendly will be back.
What a treat. My wife and I came here during our honeymoon and we never wanted to leave. Amazing food, spectacular service, and some of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.
Arrived late for lunch but they served the three of a really enjoyable lunch. Great belly of pork! Thanks
Consistently good service and food at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed a walk and pub lunch and as always it was very enjoyable. Friendly staff, good menu choice. What’s not to like.
Glenn the landlord is the most welcoming of people. A great pint of Guiness to be had!
Good home cooked food in pleasant surroundings. So much choice on the menu it was hard to choose. Staff friendly and efficient. Will definitely be going again.
Very nice. Friendly staff. Good ambience. Burger was ok. Chips were a little overdone for me but I still ate them. Good menu selection btw.
Dropped in for lunch with my elderly parents. Huge menu, lovely freshly cooked food, friendly helpful service. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.
Great pub to visit at the end of the Downton circular walk. Has a large, dog friendly beer garden and fresh homemade food. The chips were some of the best we've had!
Great pub and restaurant, landlord is always cheerful and helpful, it's a must stopping point if you're passing through Downton and like a really good happy experience. Ps the food is excellent
