We went yesterday for mothers day, the food was amazing, and the staff were lovely. We're very helpful and lovely towards my 10 month old daughter, food was quick service, and the staff couldn't do enough for you. A lovely family pub and fantastic food... highly recommend we will be back soon �

get what you pay for if you want the best of the best food here's a suggestion take yourself out of the pub and go to the overpriced eateries In town . I had a meal with my family here was great. lots of whinging people reviews here from people who think they are at Jamie olivers
First I would like to say the staff were the best I have encountered for a very long time. The choice of food was very good and when the meals arrived they were all piping hot.The prices were very reasonable to. All in all a lovely evening at a local will highly recommend it.

Me and my friends come every week on a Sunday for the quiz! It’s a good way for us to get together after a long week, and the pub makes us all feel welcomed with great food and drink! #UTQ
Sunday night is my most favourite night of the week. Quiz night is the best. It’s a great time for a night out with family in a friendly welcoming atmosphere. It doesn’t matter if you lose or not it’s the taking part that counts. what more could you want good food a great pint and spending time with friends and family while testing your knowledge and if you manage to come first second or third you even win a prize.
Very good. I had a table booked for 12 people. I rang ahead and said five would not be attending and they are very understanding and arrange a table for seven people. The food was very good, although when there was no pigs in blankets, the staff were very friendly and went to the kitchen straight away and got us some and extras.
Came for Sunday lunch certainly wasn’t disappointed. Great service lovely tender meat and fresh vegetables good value for money. The only reason I’ve given a 4 not a five star rating the roast potatoes were disappointing frozen potatoes with fresh veg very soggy not crispy. But would come again
Really quiet & peaceful. Good service & good food! To me, I was spoilt for choice over the menu!! Left booking a table last minute & arrived earlier than expected for booking. Despite early arrival, very accommodating (may be something to do with the pub being quiet!!). Very pleased with the service, food & atmosphere. .
August Bank Holiday we were in the area and we had been in before. Not a lot going on one lady behind the bar and a few drinking in the bar. Food was very good and tasty nothing under ten pounds though as main meals. Good all round visit. Lady behind the bar very nice and friendly seem to be everywhere and happy with it.
The staff also made us feel welcomed. The staff were lovely food was outstanding. We ordered I got our food very quick with in 20 minutes. Nothing was to much trouble. Love the whole experience. The dessert was outstanding.
We only went in as it was local to friends after a funeral. The place has changed since I was last there in 1979 :)
The staff seemed friendly enough, and all mucked in to serve the drinks I ordered, quickly.

Only my 3rd time coming to the pub, will say the service gotta give 10/10, service with a smile. Made welcome by the young lady behind the bar. Come he more often.
Entered the restaurant and saw it to be quiet and was shown to our seats. And the food was done quickly and was very nice.
I’ve been before and always found the staff very nice. The food is always hot ( although my steak was more medium to well instead of rare) and very tasty. Good selection of drinks available . All areas are clean . Will definitely come again

A great find, I went on a Thursday and it was steak night! YAY I love a steak and I was not disappointed, a good pint of Directors sealed the deal, I would highly recommend this pub
I haven’t been in this pub for a while, not because of any poor past experience, but simply because I’ve generally not been in many pubs of recent. I went in with my wife and son to have a couple of drinks and we also played a few games of pool. In particular I would comment that the staff we interacted with were very friendly and welcoming, which is probably the foremost factor in setting an impression. There was a good selection of drinks on tap, and it was a pleasant surprise to see inches cider. The pub looks good and clean/ well kept. I look forward to visiting again for what appears good value food.
