Came here as one of the famous fish and chips in Dover area. The cod is really fresh to eat. Although it is quite small portion for a large order. Mushy peas were a bit disappointed. Didn’t taste the minty flavour or freshness of it. Fish cake you can see a bit hard over fried. Overall, interior of restaurant is beautiful and very cosy cooling.
First time having fish and chips here, sat outside and soaked up the music and atmosphere. Fairly priced and lovely crispy batter and chips. Staff friendly and approachable.
I gave it 3 stars since I know there is always room for improvement. Food-wise, we ordered fish and chips. I ordered mine as small, but when it was served, it was the same size as the regular fish and chips. The taste was fine, a bit greasy, but still okay. The chips were good as well.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for the atmosphere is because of the renovations being done on the outside of the building.
But, to be honest, everything else was brilliant. I want to particularly mention the staff. They were absolutely amazing!! I could not have asked for a friendlier bunch of young people who provided the perfect service when I took my elderly mother here for lunch.
Always a favourite place for a fish and chip lunch.
Had an amazing experience as first timers. Fish and chips tasted scrumptious — the guy next to us was yelling at the staff about bad service???The staff and supervisor were so polite I was shocked at his behavior and review. He must’ve been having a bad day and looking for someone to take it out on because we couldn’t have had anything better for a perfect sunny day in Dover! We also go the truffle salad and a croissant to go! Will be back!!!!!!
Wheeler's is an incredibly delightful destination for a dining experience fused with relaxation. The establishment boasts an inviting outdoor area that offers a picturesque seascape to savor. The staff consistently exudes politeness and remarkable assistance, enhancing the overall dining pleasure. The cuisine served is nothing short of excellent, undoubtedly satisfying discerning palates. Our children absolutely adore this spot, especially following our beach escapades in Dover. A hearty recommendation is in order for Wheeler's!
Surprisingly, a very good fish & chip place. Service is a bit slow - it’s not a fast traditional chippy - it’s basically a restaurant. But the fish n chips were of good quality
If you want a proper traditional ‘chippy’ experience, this is not it. But this is a very good place to eat fish n chips plus it’s by the sea. Fish and chips always taste better when you can see the sea 😀
After a long hiking trip across the white cliffs we decided to have lunch locally before returning to London. Naturally we wanted an authentic fish and chip place. After a Google search we settled on Wheelers. The restaurant is lovely, clean and welcoming. Parking is available directly in front of the premises. We were greeted by friendly waitresses who took our orders of Haddock & Chips.
It was by far the best fish & chips I've ever tasted. The fish was perfectly cooked, not greasy just golden brown with a light crunch. The chips were hand cut with the skin on, again not greasy and cooked to perfection. The homemade tartare sauce was divine as were the mushy peas. We were hugely impressed and will definitely come back!
We had drinks and a cake with friends. Which we enjoyed.
Rated the atmosphere as a two due to the staff having personal discussions between them, lound enough for customers to be aware of.
The use of extreme expletives by staff is most definitely what we did not appreciate hearing.
Very good Fish and Chips! Pleased we popped in for our meal after a long walk around Dover Castle 👍
The Fish&Chips are great! Must give a go if you love this kind of dish.
But the shrimp starter wasn’t so good as something you can prepare as quick dish at home and maybe you could do better…
And the Calamari is a bit on budget control…
