Been here several times & have never found fault. Service is always fantastic & the food is superb! Was last here yesterday for a Birthday meal and I have to say my starter was the best starter I have ever had: Pan fried scallops with pea puree, crispy pancetta & cauliflower. Was on the Specials menu, but I have to say this dish needs to be on the regular menu as it was just sublime! I could have eaten the dish ten times over

The staff are brilliant. Attentive and informed. The food is amazing. Very relaxed atmosphere. We were not rushed out of our seats and spent two and a half hours enjoying a three course meal and two bottles of wine. The prices were very reasonable. We had the seafood platter - the medium is £55 and the selection of shellfish is fabulous. We would recommend coming to this restaurant highly. Thank you for a great experience.

Really top place for great food! Ask for a table overlooking the harbour and take in the view.Unbeatable and Dover's classiest restaurant by far.

Very good choice on the menu. We've been a couple of times and enjoyed it both times. We did have a small problem when my potato wasn't very hot but it was overcome very quickly and our bill was adjusted. Would recommend this restaurant.

Cracking place to eat. The very large menu had a good selection of meals. My friends and I would recommend this to anyone that wants a very good seafood based evening.

Our daughter has lived in Dover for three years, can't believe this is the first time we visited this restaurant. Terrific views over Dover Port, on the evening we visited Saga gave us a great firework display. The staff are really friendly and obviously very proud of their workplace and the food is definately 5 star.

Really nice Italian place, with welcoming staff and great service. The food was all around great, the salmon pasta was very well seasoned. It was also served really quickly and came in decent size. The view is just by the marina and it's a short walk from the train station too

Great food quality and service! Went there during the bank holiday and oyster got sold out 🦪. We got the last two luckily. Very fresh and tasty. Love the fish and chip as well! Overall great value with excellent view! Highly recommended. Plenty parking available outside as well in the evening.

What a wonderful experience I had in Bella Vita! Food was absolutely lovely, perfectly seasoned and presented. The atmosphere was amazing and the waitresses were fabulous. The view of the coast, white cliffs and castle were all amazing. Would definitely be coming back here again!!

This place was great. We had tried two pubs along the coast but both had stopped serving food (it was around 7pm Sunday) and we were getting hungry. We were staying on the seafront and had noticed this place earlier in the day, so gave it a go. There was a lovely, calm atmosphere and the service was great. The restaurant has a glass front looking over the sea and we enjoyed watching the ferries come in and out in the distance. We had camembert to start. It maybe could have done with a little longer cooking as it wasn't as gooey as I'd have liked, and we could have done with more bread but it was tasty and I am being both picky and greedy now. The real star of the show here was the fish. The beer batter was among the best I've had, it was light and crisp and absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection and kept all of its moisture and flavour. It was awesome. Definitely, definitely worth a visit.

Thee other day my partner and I went to the Dover Patrol after previously having eaten there (under the previous name ) a few times and enjoyed it. We were initially disappointed with the menu, however we decided to try the seafood platter and chanced our luck by asking if the oysters could be done rockafella style and compliments to the chef they delivered and were absolutely lovely, the platter was fresh and delicious. Mike( I hope I remember correctly) and Chloe were brilliant. All in all a really good lunch, albeit not cheap. I'd recommend 👍

Oysters, mussels, haddock, fish & chips, mackerel pate were all top notch and delicious! Happy to have stumbled upon this place before leaving dover. Only the cod tasted a bit bland, more sauce perhaps? Drinks and desserts were the cherry on top, wish I had an extra stomach to finish every morsel. Staff were amazing and attended to us promptly with a fantastic attitude compared to many other restaurants we went to on this trip. Please keep up the great work everyone!

We went to Dover for the day and since we were next to the coast, figured it appropriate to eat somewhere with fish. Dover Patrol came up as the first result and we saw some good reviews so wanted to try it for ourselves. The staff were attentive and so friendly, but the food was absolutely incredible. I had the garlic prawns and my partner had the chilli calamari, then for mains we both had the chefs special of Dover Sole, it was both our first times eating Dover sole but it was amazing. It isn’t cheap, the bill coming to £109 for the two of us, but we both thought the price was completely worth it and we would’ve happily spent more for the quality of the food.

I really enjoyed the dinner with my friends here. But one thing that I was not really impressed with is the quantity of starters and some main courses. Only if the menu had any pictorial references. Just loved the traditional beer battered Cod fish and chips.

We were in Dover for a quick stop and luckily found this amazing restaurant for. Family meal. The food was brilliant, very tasty and amazingly good for value. Staff were so friendly. We only ordered one child menu for the toddler, but they gave us two ice cream, my older DD was so happy. I would definitely come back in future.

Living in Dover we often walk along the front. Having been away noticed the change to the restaurant and booked. It was wonderful. Sardines so fresh and perfectly cooked. Dogfish special absolutely amazing. Best food I have for a long time. Service was spot on. A complimentary lemoncello at the end put the icing on the top of a great evening. Thank you.

Enjoy the wide views of the harbour, the doughty swimmers and neighbouring ferries coming and going from the elevated DOVER PATROL CAFE RESTAURANT over a pleasant coffee or lunch - unfortunately not (yet?) breakfast. Bafflingly under-subscribed for its huge potential and attentive staff, it would benefit from larger, less cluttered signage / branding externally and to indicate its entrance, being above the Water Sports Centre. Head for the van Gogh-like lifting bridge to the inner marina, along the seafront past the elegant crescent, look left and you're there. A new owner is seemingly being sought to lift and refresh this waterside gem. Do go there!

Been here twice and absolutely love the place. The food is wonderful, the view is phenomenal, and the service is amazing. Huge shout out to Robin and Mike who were the sweetest and best servers we had. Especially Robin who put up with my random questions about the options as well as helping us break a 20 😆. If you are looking for something good to eat I recommend the Prawn Noodles. It’s the perfect portion (not too much and not too little), very filling, and delish. I definitely reccomend ordering a side of vegetables to get your veggies in. 😊 The burger is the other item we tried. The meat was well cooked but due to the vegetables weird placement it caused the bun to be soggy by the time it was served. So I suggest sticking to the seafood main courses. Super big fan of the New Zealand Misty Cove wine. Goes very well with the baked Camembert. That cheese is amazing! Very nicely warmed to a melting point and they add some honey to make it slightly sweet. Personally wasn’t a fan of the Quintero White wine from Spain but that’s just a personal preference I feel as my boyfriend loved it. If you are looking for an amazing dessert you honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite item on the list is the cream brûlée 🤤. If you are a chocolate fan then the brownie with vanilla ice cream is a must. It is beyond soft and warm making the mix with cold ice cream an amazing combination. Alternatively, if you want something light but sweet I loved the Lemon Tart. It was the right amount sweet/sour but didn’t leave me feeling beyond full. Seating in the restaurant is difficult because everyone wants the window seat and they are always reserved. Therefore make sure to make a reservation if that is what you want. Otherwise I recommend the upper seats as they have a wonderful view of the entire restaurant and the water view. Especially fun if you like people watching 😉. Overall, I highly reccomend this place.

Such a lovely experience. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious: especially the burger and the sticky toffee pudding. We got a table at the window where we had a nice view over the harbour. The atmosphere was so nice as well: there was relaxing jazz music and it was so calm. If you visit Dover, this is an absolute must. Definitely worth it!

I went for the spaghetti carbonate, it was simply divine. I have a large appetite and struggled to finish it,not complaing though! The lemon chello ice cream was a dream.wines were very good and very reasonably priced. At first glad one may think it expensive, but meals everywhere have shot up in price. You certainly get value for your money. Beautifully prepared and presented. Staff polite, attentive and courteous. Thursday evening dinner, parked directly opposite, wonderful view of the harbour with twinkling lights. Definitely returning.
