Not my favorite, but it was good. Spring rolls were tasty, even if from a freezer. Same with the Gyoza. Rice was tender and held the teriyaki well. Beef and chicken, less than I'm used to at this price range. Steamed veggies were slightly over moist. The salad that came with it had a great dressing and crisp.
Service was way faster than my usual spot. The lady behind the counter was really nice, and was able to get it right. Good work! 👍
If you're looking for excellent food and service, Hot Rice is the place to go. I absolutely love this restaurant and eat here three times a week! The Teriyaki chicken and rice dish is undoubtedly their specialty and is simply the best I've ever had. What I appreciate even more about Hot Rice is that it's family-owned, and the owners are wonderful people who make the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Great food! Great service! Awesome spot to get really good Teriyaki and service is always very fast. I love their side salad with their own homemade salad dressing!
Great place to get food... Call 📞 before I leave work and food is always ready when I arrive. Only 30 minutes for lunch so I appreciate the quickness. Best POTSICKERS around. Service is always friendly accommodating.

Names Jake (this my girls Google) go to school for Maritime welding at PCC in the shipyards, and this Place is GREAT! Grace at the front is very sweet and friendly and they're SO fast! Grace explained they (guys that cook are great too just don't know their names) understand people who work in that area usually only get a 30 min lunch so they take that into consideration. And BOY DO THEY! Today they had a guy in front of messages order done before he could even get his straw in his soda!!

Authentic. I come here while on business in the Portland area. I have tried numerous plates from this small quiet restaurant. They have all been fantastic and very authentic in flavor and plate appeal.
I highly recommend the new shrimp 🍤 tempura!
The hot & spicy chicken or beef plates are awesome. Just note they both come mixed with veggies, so be prepared for greens and white rice.
The spicy level I'd say it's prepared as a mild to medium heat and nothing unbearable.
Everything here is cooked fresh per order and is piping hot.

This is a family owned restaurant and you can tell how much they care about their food and customers by the freshness. They're great people and they make consistently great food.
Quick spot for a bite on Swan Island. Open later than some things on the island which is nice. Kind and cheery staff that are happy to serve.
If you're on the island you should stop in for a chicken teriyaki.

Always good for a quick meal that doesn't disappoint. Been going for 15 years now and they have stood the rest of time. I've seen staff rotate but the service is always perfect. The area is rough and I've seen them go through tough times with vandalism but they always put the customer first.
The recent dining room improvement is nice too.

Wow! The food was made very quickly and was delicious. I had beef teriyaki which was very tender and I loved the balance of sauce and pepper seasoning. The hostess was friendly and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommending this place.
Some of the best teriyaki in town, and convenient for anyone working on Swan Island. Truly the best value in Portland, too.
This is the best, and one of the cheapest, teriyaki chicken places we've found. The biggest downside is they aren't open weekends, but that's understandable since they're surrounded by major businesses that are also closed weekends. Anytime I get a weekday off, we're trying to find an excuse to bring the family here.
The only place worth getting lunch on the island! Eat here and you won’t be disappointed
