Wow is all I can say. Working so close by its the first time I have been. Booked a table for 16 of us and the food and service was impeccable. The pub and gardens were beautiful. Definitely be back again!
Went here for the fish and chips, been before, and it was the best fish with the lightest batter I have ever had. Not as good this time batter was too crispy and slightly over cooked. Still lovely though. Chips were still amazing and crunchy. My wife had the chicken with ham hock pie and creamy mash. She said it was lovely, staff were fantastic and worked very hard. Would still recommend this place.
Had a lovely meal as a group of 9 here. All of the food was good - the shared starter for 2 would easily feed 3!, and prices are reasonable. Will definitely return.
Just had superb lunch. Delicious food, fantastic table service, good ambience. It would have been 5 stars but, credit card machine broken so had to pay at the bar. Couldn't leave a tip as the till wouldn't accept it - we had no cash. Couldn't get a receipt, machine broken!
Come on D&M get your systems sorted, it's costing you stars and spoiling a lovely visit.!
Great service friendly staff and lovely setting. Would have give 5 stars for food but it was not hot enough for me same with coffee although we asked for extra hot. But this is personal choice and understand regulations in place.
Service was excellent, lovely staff who were patient with my son's indecision. Great food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. It really made us feel like welcome guests for a nice pub meal.
We are regulars during the week for Cod & Chips & it must be the best white Cod in the UK with the lightest batter. My wife has always wanted to try the Sunday Lunch! Today we did & I knew it wouldn't dissappoint & well it was absolutely fantastic the Turkey was plentiful & moist a real delight 😀.
It is difficult to find great food & Debbie & Robert were so accommodating, we have now booked the next three Sundays & Booked for Christmas Day.
A very happy couple & full with heavenly food, please pass this on to the Chef & Kitchen staff.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the kind and thoughtful team.
Our elderly parents come in on occasion for a treat for lunch - they enjoy the food and the welcoming atmosphere. Last Wednesday was such occasion and they had a great lunch but unfortunately our mum fell in the car park (she just lost her balance). The team were absolutely superb helping my dad deal with the situation and we can't praise them enough for their kindness and thoughtfulness.
They really went above and beyond!
The Drum & Monkey is a nice place to go to, large variety of draught beer, some IPA and bottled special beer.
The menu is standardised; and while the pies looked very inviting and the fries were really tasty everything "steak like" was okayish but not convincing.
Dessert was fine (good standard).
Service was very friendly and helpful which is why I think four stars are fair.
Maybe rather reduce the food on offer and keep standards high.
Pleasant surprise - restrooms! Aged with style and close to perfect maintained.
Pulled in for a cheeky ale, very welcoming and they allowed us to park the engine up while we had drink, said we were welcome back with the engine anytime, hope they still don't mind when we turn up with three engines.
We had lunch here and hadn't been for many years as we don't live particularly close to the pub. We will definitely be back though as it was really good - food and the feel of the place. No parking issues and my dietary needs were catered for. Very impressed
Always great service and a great meal. I had the steak, which was delicious, and my friend had the hunters chicken. We meet up here every few months and love the ambience and the great service. Thankyou x
Our first time eating here. Mushroom and ale pie, chips and veg, was spot on. Our waitress was Kunashe, who was excellent. Great customer service, very attentive, always working if not serving tables. We will definitely go back here
First class food and friendly staff definitely recommend The Drum and Monkey
We ate here twice in 3 days, I was visiting home from australia and have owned restaurants and worked in hospitality for 30 years.
The service from Natalie and Kerry was exemplary on both occasions.
Unfortunately the food was hit and miss.
Excellent lunch on a Tuesday, we booked dinner for Thursday and we ordered a lasagne and 2 rumps - one of the rumps resembled a fillet (as it should) but the other looked like a ribeye and was very over cooked and sinewy.
The issue was solved by the fantastic service staff and the restaurant was busy but when you wait a certain amount of time for a meal the expectation is that it will be worth it.
Again, due to the service we will be back so thank you to Kerry and Natalie, both legends under the circumstances and high pressure environment 👍
MY son's took myself and my wife out for a meal at the Drum &Monkey yesterday evening, as a Birthday treat. The food was excellent, it was well presented and the service was faultless. We four of us commented that we will return again.
Took a family member there for Sunday lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent, as well as the service. Will most certainly be going back there again. Thank you
Lovely family meal out. Went out with family, 4 adults and a couple little ones. Really tempting menu which they change and update every so often. Lots on there which sounded delicious, upmarket gastropub. All the dishes we selected were fantastic. Decent portion sizes but each dish ate really well. The staff were very attentive, service was great. Price wise it is more than your usual pub, but definitely worth it.
