The pub itself is gorgeous on the inside, love the bar being in the middle with tables around it so you don't have to go through the whole pub to reach it. I only wish we saw the spotted dog a bit more! UPDATE! We saw the dog more last time and he's adorable! (And massive) the food was so amazing as well we went for a Sunday roast this time and it did not disappoint!

As soon as I walked into this pub, it was amazing because I was greeted by very friendly dogs. While the menu was not that diverse, it did not need to be as the atmosphere of the pub was wonderful and friendly. The people, most of whom were playing dars and I assumed to be local, were extremely welcoming. It is also worth seeing the seating area at the back of the pub. The female member of staff was absolutely lovely. She was extremely hard-working and friendly. The chicken Caesar salad was really nice and I liked the fact that the Chef added celery and it is something that I would recommend. The pub is extremely dog friendly and I liked the fact that dogs were able to wander freely around the pub. The atmosphere is great, the people are friendly and the food is really nice. ***We recently attended the place again and were quite pleased. It was very crowded and we had to sit at the bar to have a meal. We did not mind this because it was no one's fault that the pub was crowded and it wasn't bad at all being seated at the bar. It was also great to see that many people had chosen to bring their dogs to a pub. The "Dogger Burgers" also looked really nice.***

So an odd one, was almost empty when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Lady behind the bar friendly, partner had a passionfruit cocktail which was from a tap, didn't look like the photo which was topped with a slice of passionfruit but she said tasted nice anyway. I had a beer, only one ale on tap, forget the name but it was very so so. We had a spicy veggie burger and a regular with bacon and then we waited and waited a ridiculous time, almost comical forever when it did arrive the chips nice and crunchy and the burgers looked nice, taste wise not bad but not badly priced either. Men's toilets are out the back in a separate room and aren't great but have seen worse. Good points friendly staff, food reasonably price, nice little old building and a cute, friendly spotted dog who did manage to fart a couple of times near us but ours are just as bad so didn't bother us and he was a good boy overall. Poor points being very slow on food and limited ale selection. I did however win £65 on the video slot machine whilst waiting for food so that was a nice little bonus I suppose.

Lovely time here yesterday. Welcoming staff - and dog ; while I was waiting for a friend. Very good, varied menu including, but not exclusively Sunday roast, and a number of vegetarian options. Mu friend was very impressed with his lamb curry, and I loved my ploughman's with hand carved ham. Beautiful quiet garden space with area for children, was hard to believe we were in the town centre. Gorgeous views of Denbies hillside on Ranmore. They do cocktails , and had a musician performing mid afternoon. Will definitely return when next in Surrey

Great atmosphere. Hidden, and rather beautiful garden. Good food, great beer, COCKTAILS on tap (try the espresso martini) and most of all to top it off they have a real spotted dog 😀

Very traditional pub, nice food with good portions and good atmosphere. Visited during the day not long after pubs reopened. Nice staff and big garden area which is good. Loved seeing the dog too!

Nice pint of Guiness in a lovely garden overlooking beautiful scenery in the summer. Only small issue was the state of the toilets otherwise would have given 5 stars. A lovely spring and summer pub for the long days!

I had never been in before ( I don't drink so I don't have reason to visit Pubs but when I finally did for relatives to sit and drink, I was shocked at the Hidden Gem of a MASSIVE beautiful garden at the back !. so so nice.

Really nice pub. I'm American and the bars in my city don't have the huge gardens like this pub does so it was a great experience.
