A great atmosphere and great food!! Had a great time here with my family.
Large place with outdoor seating. Friendly staff and very-welcoming. I did not have a reservation on a Sunday. Sunday roasts are very popular and I knew I would be lucky to get served. I had hair completed a 6 mile hike with my dog and we were tired and hungry. They are very dog-friendly.
The food was delivered quickly and it was a generous portion. It was a gorgeous day and a very enjoyable place.
What a find! Did extensive research for the best pub in the area and came across the Abinger Hatch.
The menu is superb!
Enjoyed the Smoked asparagus with prosciutto ham, and a poached egg, simply fantastic.
When the mains arrived was even more delighted by what has to be the best fish pie I've ever eaten.
Lots of salmon, cod and smoked haddock, in a creamy sauce topped by a mash and grilled cheese. Absolutely sensational.
Partner had the fish and chips with home made tartar sauce - was all delicious
Service was friendly, ate out in the garden, on a blazing hot day
Cannot recommend highly enough, the taste is seared into my memory, only wish this was local to me, I'd be here every week!
Big thanks to the following
- Jay the manager for running a fabulous establishment
- Our servers Mark and Simon
- And of course the fabulous head chef Lewis and chef Bev
Fabulous high standard, if only all pubs could follow your model!

Cute country pub, outdoor setting was nice and had a good feel to the place.
Was busy for a Friday afternoon.
Food couldn't be faulted and the version Wellington was a great choice.
Great pub, building is beautiful and location is stunning. Had a lovely time here sat outside on a Saturday night, good food with a few drinks. Service from the girls outside was 5 star now complaints, one of the gents on the bar wasn't quite so pleasant unfortunately. Overall brilliant evening and certainly will return next time we're in town.
Simply amazing! The food was delicious with generous portions (as you can see from the photos). I had the Pheasant breast which was superb - the truffle sauce was divine. My wife had the lamb pie of the day which had lovely shortcrust pastry. Highly recommended!
little quaint pub with unreal food
Fantastic cosiest little pub in the heart of the surrey hills within reach of local countryside walks such as holmbury hill and Leaf hill. with a great kitchen for food and a wide verity of beers ciders and local selections, food is next level, highly recommend the pulled chorizo and chicken Scotch egg and cider battered fish and chips, stellar meal.. priced to be expected between 15-20 quid per head if you have a drink but honestly worth it for a family visit or just a friendly catch up. Service is fantastic very outgoing and recommendations, not a rushed atmosphere and has a very homely feel.
An unique place. The food is amazing. The service is on point - friendly, willing to go above and beyond. The atmosphere - unique. Everything is on point. Will gladly come back again. It can be quite busy.
As others said: genuinely pretty country pub with tasty good-looking food. Friendly staff. Definitely recommended!
Went here as a stop during a walk in the woods for a drink. The place was very busy on the Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere was cosy and joyous.
Luckily we managed to get a table and seats, but would recommend reserving beforehand if attending as it gets really busy.
The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
Would definitely go back, if in the area to eat there!
Great vegan options and a large gluten free menu. Cosy atmosphere though very busy. Great for a family lunch
