On the way back from the hiking, we found this pub. It is a lovely place on the hill with a great view. Today is very sunny so it is crowded. There is live music by the local band which is lovely and give extra vibe for the place. We ordered small plates chips and calamari; both were really nice. Ca
Really lovely spot with easily one of the best vegan roasts we have tried.
Everyone was friendly and they welcomed walk ins from hikers, families and cyclists.
They only accept cash tips and very much deserve them, so please bear that in mind when you come
We will absolutely come back!
Pub with nice location and views. Ordered fish which was fantastic. They had a local lager which was fab.
Nice location with a beautiful view. The food was OK. Most of the group had a Sunday roast. Potatoes could have been a bit softer (I have teeth and I struggled!) and gravy tasted quite acidic. The beef was cooked nicely. Mulled wine was served lukewarm. We let the waitress know, but nothing was real
Really lovely lamb shoulder - the whole meal was lovely and tasty - especially the mint sauce. Service was good though would definitely book (as can get quite busy)
Great pub in a nice setting. The only negative surprise was the gents, which was a tad old fashioned. Lots of atmos inside and a lovely garden. Can't comment on the food too much as we only had a cheese board. I did, however, look on enviously at the Sunday roasts that were coming out. Staff very we
What a find...
Situated in the foothills of Boxhill, this stunning little pub was a great find. Booked for a table of 5 and this venue was superb. The food choice was excellent, well presented and more importantly, extremely tasty.
The service was friendly and the costs was extremely well priced.

Great spot to end a hike around box hill. There was a good selection of local beers and traditional pub favourite meals such as fish and chips, burgers and pies. Food was good but service lacked that extra bit of finesse due to younger, inexperienced servers. Enjoyed our visit nonetheless and would
This pub is perfect all year round - cosy in the winter and stunning views from the garden in the summer. Lunch today was fantastic - the food was spot on (we had a mix of burgers, pies and salads on our table) and the service friendly (special shout out to Richard for this).
Tips: do book ahead
Stopped off here for a drink during a walk through the Surrey Hills. Good selection of beers here and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was also amazed to find they had a live band on playing jazz which was great. The outside garden is amazing with a really wonderful view. I would definite
Absolutely lovely place. Views & surroundings hard to beat. Good food & lovely staff. All in all a must to visit!
I enjoy the kind of complaints that I read, because it means that if I have lower expectations I might be able to get a table easier…
Does that make sense?
I loved the food, the ambiance, and the service. I went with my daughter after doing half of our hike. A couple of pints and I lovely pastry fil
The most amazing quaint place. Great food, great drinks and an amazing view of Surrey!
The mussels are to die for!
A hidden gem of a place. Sunday roasts are very good value. Take cash for staff tips.
Used to frequent this place regularly but it lost 'something' it used to have after it was sold a few years ago. Not sure if it has changed hands again since we last visited about 1.5- 2 years ago, but it has that 'something' back now. Extremely attentive and polite table waiting staff, great food a
Great pub, excellent food and really great service from Richard who looked after us.
Cosy country pub, delicious food and great service. Sat outside under cover and felt cosy on a rainy day. Loads of different soft drink options too. Dog friendly. Great views even on a wet day.
A really excellent spot to warm by the fire or sit in the sun and enjoy views of the Surrey hills. Delicious food and a beautiful rustic interior.
Pictured is the Calamari which was fresh and well seasoned. A touch on the pricey side at around £15 per main dish, but that’s Surrey for you.

Lovely restaurant, with great views. The food was delicious and looked lovely. Service was brilliant, server was very friendly. Was a little upset that I couldn't give our server a tip, as they can only take tips in cash. If only I knew before as she deserved a large tip.
