We visited the cafe today on the recommendation of a family member. Our party consisted of two adults and a five-year-old.
The cafe is very light, airy and open. There are steps leading to the cafe but there is a lift available to those who need help or are unable to climb the staircase.
There was a lovely selection of food available and most importantly to me, there was a range of delicious gluten free cakes. This is the big highlight to me being gluten intolerant as normally I have to have prepackaged things and it was nice to have a proper slice of cake on a plate.
The staff were friendly, attentive and only too happy to help, the prices were extremely reasonable, the coffee was delicious and it was nice to see a selection of proper traditional drinks available as opposed to just Coke and lemonade on draft.
Another big highlight was that the back room had been opened up and there were arts and crafts available for the children to make a selection of gifts for Father’s Day; cards, doorhanger, ties, a moustache… This is a major bonus point for me having a 5 year old daughter who can sometimes get bored sitting at a table while the adults have a cup of coffee. The crafts were all free but there was a pot for donations towards additional materials the cafe needed for younger visitors and for autistic visitors to bring in additional materials which I thought was fantastic. There was also the option to give feedback on your experience and recommend of the things you would like to see the cafe do.
I think this little gem is wonderful, I can’t wait to go back and enjoy lunch and it’s definitely somewhere I would visit again. There was parking outside on the road but it’s also just a couple of minutes walk from the top of town roundabout as well so very easily accessible.
Very nice visit to the cafe. A relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was delicious. Will definitely go again.
Nice little café within the museum, friendly service & nice atmosphere. Plenty of choice.
I love coming in here the staff are very friendly and they do nice coffee and the cakes are very nice 👌. The work experience student did a very good job yesterday 😀.
Our first visit to the cafe this morning and we will definitely return. Friendly, welcoming staff and high quality food and drinks with plenty of choice and good value for money.
What a lovely place to enjoy a coffee or lunch. The cafe is very tastefully furnished and totally in keeping with the building that hosts it. Rustic charm with solid wooden tables and chairs which are well spaced and not cramped. The menu is varied with the option of the day’s special. Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are very good. There is a huge range of teas to tempt you as well as very good coffee. The food is well cooked and presented, and not to mention tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful too, nothing is too much trouble for them. With a lift from the shop the cafe is also disabled friendly. I definitely recommend that you visit this light and airy cafe to sample its atmosphere as well as the excellent food, including homemade cakes, and the range of drinks and even ice creams.
Friendly, reasonable value and great coffee
A group of 7 of us visited to try the Breakfast Club. Good menu choice and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Excellent food and service. Great value for money. Will definitely be going again!
The tiger who came for tea was a lovely time with the kids. Worth it if a fan of the book :)
Really nice relaxed place to eat, good choice of food and friendly staff who were happy to answer any questions. We stopped for lunch and food was served quickly and was very nice. Facilities clean and tidy and there is a lift available if needed.
The choice and quality of the food was superb. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was excellent. Very reasonably priced and also Covid compliant. Well worth a visit.
