The best scones I've ever tasted as freshly baked that morning. Tea served in a teapot with china cups and saucers. Wonderful young man (George?) served us and was very polite. The female owner was also very friendly and helpful and advised us of the best beach to visit. A highlight of our holiday and would definitely recommend.

Have just left and we couldn’t wait to say how nice this place is. The lady who I think runs it is the sweetest person and nothing was to much. The food was amazing and plentiful and excellent value for money. It’s a quaint place too with lots of character. You’d be crazy not to pay them a visit

Wonderful lady who runs the Old Tea House. The Sunday roast was great and this place has a lot of history. Dating back to 1635 it has a Priest Hole upstairs and a Roman Tunnel below. Used by the infamous Judge Jeffries as a prison.

We were so well fed and entertained we can fully understand why a very helpful gentleman named Raymond finds himself most days enjoying his lunch in this wonderful venue. Thank you

We visited this absolute gem of a place for a cream tea. So friendly and welcoming, the service was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. The building itself has such an interesting history from 1635 to present day. The cream tea was delicious, home baked scones!! We will return! We noticed a lovely little sign.....Enter as strangers, leave as friends. That says it all.

After seeing The Old Tea House on the TV, we thought we'd go for High Tea with 2 very good friends. It was a fabulous experience and Debbie is even better in person. It is a family run business with Debbie's son doing the cooking and her Grandson helping as a waiter.

After seeing The Old Tea House on TV we decided it was worth a visit. And boy, was it worth it! We shared a pot of tea and a piece of warmed Dorset Apple Cake and clotted cream all for £8.00. The cake, with apple, raisins and cinnamon was so light and tasty. A tea room with freshly made cakes and scones - yummy, and very welcoming.

Beautiful location in the heart of Dorchester, steeped in a rich history according to the very friendly and smiling owner. Service is very good, the food is classic and tasty, and there's a car park nearby!

What a gem of a place. A lovely family business with hard working and extremely kind people who are happy to go above and beyond to make your meal amazing. I came here with my family, 9 of us from 5-71 years old. We mostly had chicken soup which was good and more of a starter and left more than enough space for us all to try more things on the menu so we were very happy! We all had scones and the toffee apple cake which were both delicious. My brother had salmon and eggs which he said was amazing and it was a really great portion. The coffees and teas were also great, in lovely tea pots.

The food was tasty, scones were great. There could have been a little more smoked salmon to a portion for the price. The interior was very cute. Service was very slow though.

Excellent place to have afternoon tea. Despite arriving just shy of closing time, we received a warm reception. Very courteous and friendly host that served us a wonderful afternoon tea in a beautiful wedgwood set. Had an amazing time with my family here and we all agreed this was the best scones we've had during our trip. Thank you very much for having us

A big thank you to this lovely little tea shop for making my mum’s 86th tea party so special. Very attentive service, surprise free birthday decorations and a delicious high tea with so many sandwiches and cakes that they ended packing up the remainder in boxes to take home! Highly recommended and will definitely return for the next ladies treat 👍
