Our second visit with friends on 21/2/17 & it was just as good, if not better than our first, although excellence is a trifle hard to improve! Tasty, wholesome food with a dash of quirkiness! Convivial family-run restaurant where nothing was too much to ask for & happy to spare time for a chat! Shame it is a bit far away from where we live as we would be eating there more regularly, even so 'we will be back!'
This is our favourite place to eat. We have never been disappointed all the times we go. You're always made to feel welcomed and are always well fed and watered
Couldn’t have done more to make our stay pleasurable.. great bar / restaurant and food choice was amazing . Great husband / Wife team combining personality and discrete service.. lucky village to have such a great venue .. very reasonably priced..
Will definitely go back ..
Really great pub! The team are very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food is always hot and fresh with a good menu range which allows us to try new things every time! Very dog friendly with water bowls, treats and tables to relax with your four legged friend after a walk in the beautiful country surroundings!
What an incredible place. I have never seen so much choice of food on a menu as we did today - and it was fabulous. Such a lovely pub with a great atmosphere - would be wonderful at Christmas. Amazing food and service - outstanding thank you
Such a beautiful country pub with fantastic food. The menu choice’s were vast with even more specials to choose from. They had an unfortunate power cut whilst we were there but luckily our food was cooked in time. The landlord/lady were both very attentive, providing ambient candles and even a little music from their personal phone all whilst entertaining us with stories of the past and history of the building. Fantastic and definitely recommend.
Wonderful traditional, cosy country pub, beautifully presented and decorated. Food is very creative and has a good selection on the menu for vegan and vegetarian options. What was really outstanding was the service: the young woman who attended to us was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful and impressively responsive and efficient; rarely have we felt so well looked after.
Booked for lunch for 4 and a dog. Very dog friendly in restaurant too. Had the special chicken and teriyaki pork. All nicely cooked and presented. Very amenable host. Some narrow lanes getting to the village. Would return.
We came yesterday for a birthday meal. They were very kind as some of the party were late. It didn't worry them. We had brought a cake with us and they kindly put candles on and had their entertainment sing happy birthday to the fella. Off the beaten track a bit but worth it. Will be returning for sure.
A superb Sunday lunch with friends in a gorgeous country pub.
This pub has a very special welcoming cosy atmosphere.
We will be back & will highly recommend to others.
Usually when we arrive at restaurants with our three kids we are greeted with a look of panic from the owner but not here. Not what I’d call a traditional “child friendly” pub but the owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome. There’s a kids section on the menu and loads of gluten free choices for any coeliacs like our daughter. Food was very good and the venue itself is great too. My son particularly liked the owner’s stories about the resident ghosts. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful country pub with accommodation. Landlord was friendly, welcoming and a font of knowledge about the local area.
The rooms were well presented and serviced each day.
A little off the beaten path but well worth a visit if in the area!
Dog friendly as well
