I wish I could give the food 10 stars... myself, wife and daughter went here for a quick snack and the food is absolutely gorgeous. I had the dirty chicken which was tremendous, my had the the club sandwich which was equally good and my daughter had the kids all day breakfast which she loved.
If your in Doncaster and want a cracking meal then give the Elephant & Castle a visit, you won't be disappointed.
Went for a birthday meal here with my partner. We both agreed that the restaurant was well presented and clean. Service was prompt and relaxed. We both ordered chicken burger, which was very nice but the cheese was overpowering everything. Deserts were equally good, brownie, and a fudge sundea, both really tasty and full flavoured. Would definitely recommend a visit. Prices are reasonable. Free refill on soft drinks.
I visited Elephant and Castle for the first time tonight. I was met by Michelle who was meeting customers and seating them and she was warm, friendly and had an instant great rapport with myself and friends.
The food was outstanding, I had a fillet steak which had the sides tailored to meet my needs and couldn’t fault it at all! My starter and dessert were amazing and I left feeling absolutely stuffed with great food.
Everything was perfect throughout the night and a big shout out to Michelle who made our night even better! She personally recommended dishes she had tried, had ideas to adjust items to suit our taste and nothing was too much of an ask for her.
Went there yesterday for tea. First impression was that the seating wasn't very comfortable, chairs were a bit sturdy. However the staff was very nice and polite from the host that seated us to the lovely waitress. I had the house salad with added blue cheese. So let me tell you now, that salad was huuuge, honestly couldn't even touch the sea food tagliatelle that I ordered for main. Got them pack for home and ate them later on and it was still delicious. Defenetly coming back and hope next time we'll get seated by the window
Great place to chill. Could do with faster check in for seating. Didn't eat but looking at the food that came out it looked delicious, but.... There's probably too much. (Note to management, that does not mean cut everything in half, people are paying). Could be a bit quicker settling bills though, restaurant staff (Who are great) running round while there's 5 staff behind the bar scratching their.... Heads... Response to "the team" we were there Sunday.... 3 days ago.... Around 3.30pm... more than one person doing nothing. 🤷🏻♂️.
***UPDATE*** They're a damn sight better now. Staff are brilliant (as they always have been) food is awesome (as it always has been) but service has increased ten fold. Well done team, keep up the good work 👏
Went here for our works Christmas meal, we picked our choice of main and dessert off the Christmas menu, but when we went in to pay a deposit rather disappointingly we were told the menu had now all been changed and a new one printed. We nearly cancelled and went somewhere else but thank goodness we didn't!
We went for a 6.15 booking, wasn't too full and they gave us a really lovely table near the big window and it all looked beautiful inside, with Christmas music playing it had a great atmosphere. The music was up quite loud which we later found out was to drown out a big table of raucous women!
The food we ordered was gorgeous, I had the panfried chicken, mash and a lovely sauce. The chocolate delice I ordered for dessert was a bit too chocolatey for me really but still tastey. We ordered off the Christmas menu and for a main and dessert it was just shy of £20. Ordering off the normal menu would cost more though.
It's pricey, more than I would usually pay but it's worth it and I would definitely go back again, the staff were great, very friendly, helpful couldn't do enough for us and it really made our night.
Cheery staff welcomed us into a perfectly lit, peaceable environment for a delicious meal for an astonishing price. I'll be making this place a regular stop as and when I visit Doncaster!
Visited the Elephant and Castle in Doncaster yesterday evening for my friends hen do. I cannot recommend the place enough.
The food was absolutely delicious, they boxed up what we had left for us to take away. The service was amazing, they changed the table size last minute and yet still provided us with a free bottle of Prosecco & mocktails.
Evening though the restaurant was empty - due to football most likely the service did not fail us! We didn’t feel rushed to get out in the slightest. Absolutely amazing place and I for one will be sure to be returning!
Big shout out for Becka, for being the best waitress and checking in on us to make sure everything was good for us!
Thank you again!
First time. Had special soup and sandwich combo. Excellent value for money. Place was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would go again.
Didn’t realise this place was here! First visit and first impressions - Great place with great food - we’ll definitely be back for brunch again! Thanks to molly and becca for great service too
...came here again at the weekend for brunch! my ONLY criticism is more baked beans (bigger portion) and drop the black pudding on the full english for hash browns! :-) thanks!
First time visiting and the food was exceptional 👌 The staff were welcoming and friendly and the setting is beautiful. No complaints and will definetly be back regularly to sample the rest of the menu
Food was delicious! The burger was awesome! Great ambiance and lovely staff! Loved the place!
Lovely staff and atmosphere, just bare in mind the portions of the starters when you're ordering as they're massive
Fantastic! Best wings ever and delicious tagliatelle.
I went for the full English breakfast and couldn't fault it. It arrived hot and perfectly cooked. The wife's Eggs Benedict was spot on but the wedge of ham on each muffin was a bit too thick for her liking.
We sat at a table next to the massive window and were bathed in sunshine; I doubt there's a finer breakfast spot in all of Doncaster.
The music was slightly weird experimental dance type stuff which was ok but miles too loud hence the star deduction.
We found this place to be reasonably priced and would highly recommend it.
Really lovely surprise for the town centre of Doncaster, I had the Tumar burger with home made guacamole 🥑 and it was delicious unfortunately I ate it before realising I should of taken a picture. Also had dessert 🍨 and again totally yummy 😋 staff were friendly and accommodating. Will definitely make more of an effort to enjoy my town centre now this place his here.
Ventured to this place on a Sunday lunch time and was quite surprised at the quality of food and the view over Doncaster! Lovely cocktails as well, will be back soon! 👍🏼
