Stayed in April, this review is well overdue!!! Ann was an absolute delight, made my stay so comfortable and enjoyable! Upgraded my room for the second night with no issues whatsoever! Second year using this hotel for training and I'll definitely be going back a third!!! Thank you!

This is an old building that has been refurbished downstairs in the bar and restaurant in recent years, but the bedrooms are getting dated and ready for some more talc and the shower wasn't the best for water pressure; the old sash windows let in the rain slightly and the wind, but the weather was particularly bad when I was there. However all that is of a lower significance, as the service more than makes up for that; the staff can't do enough for you; they are really helpful and friendly and the food from the Crab & Moo restaurant was superb. Each evening meal and breakfast I had during my 2 night stay was served freshly cooked and piping hot. The pub is very conveniently located if your using the racecourse either for a sporting event or a conference / training event. I would certainly stay there in future if I was back in Doncaster.

Had a fantastic weekend celebrating a family Birthday. Hotel was spotless... it's a long while since I saw a hotel with such clean mirrors!! Staff were all friendly and helpful, room rates were exceptionally good and the full English breakfast was perfect. The restaurant meals were also very good. It's a nice mile stroll down to Frenchgate, if you're staying to shop, or the bus stops right outside the hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for a great value stay.

I would have given 5* but 1) there is no lift (which, we were told, is because it's a listed building) and 2) the vegetarian options on the menu are very limited (however, the food was delicious). The rooms are large & well furnished and you can get a bathroom with a jacuzzi :-) We will definitely be back...

Very quite restaurant, under new management so waiter said. Lots of choice being fish and meat. I had fillet steak which was very nice. Few of are party said don't think they go back after there choice. Been lamb chops I think. Not cheap but not very very expensive. My steak 8Oz fillet was £23.99 I think. Very large car park and plenty of room in building Over all I think I would go back

3 night visit to The Grand St Leger with my partner. The entrance bar and the 'Crab and Moo" restaurant is fairly grand. The room we stayed in is functional, although pretty small for a couple, but for the price we paid for it, still reasonable value. The beds fairly comfortable. Bathroom, with an actual bath and shower, adequate for what a traveller needs. The breakfast was cooked for us, rather than buffet style, thoroughly enjoyed it, and good price at £7.98. Girlfriend was a little annoyed there was no black puffing on her plate, although it was on the menu. But, I was relieved! Overall, a good few nights.

Myself and my partner booked to stay at the Grand St Ledger Hotel overnight to attend a social function. The room and service was great. We decided to eat at the Crab and Moo Restaurant attached and didn't regret it. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and professional.

I would like to thank the lovely ladies at the Grand St Leger for looking after us yesterday. We had afternoon tea and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be coming back soon. The afternoon tea was lovely, but the staff made it such a pleasant experience. Your staff are a real asset you are very lucky to have them as part of your team. See you soon Tracey and party x

Had a reunion here, although had trouble with a couple of people, the staff bend over backwards to help and sort quickly. Also we unfortunately rented the function room in the middle of redecoration. Rooms are well equipped with WiFi and flat screen tv. Great place for a quiet drink and to meet loved ones.

An initial feeling of disappointment gave way to a feeling of overall satisfaction. There is no escaping that the Grand is in need of a little TLC, but it does offer excellent value for a budget traveller and the Crab & Moo restaurant is really excellent - and again reasonably priced.

First class location, first class customer service and highly recommended restaurant. Stayed here one night and booked due to location and competitive room rate. For the money it would be hard to get better value and would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and fantastic host. Couldn’t do enough for us even got an upgrade to an executive suite. Best hotel we’ve have stayed in for a while and we’ve stayed in a lot of different well known chains up and down the country. We’ll be visiting Doncaster again just to stay here. Thank you for a great weekend.
