The Draughtsman is a fabulous little gem found on Doncaster station . A warm welcome and a fabulous selection of craft ales, delicious gins and other alcoholic beverages or a good cuppa if that’s your tipple. Friendly, attentive staff - just a really nice place to be! Personally I found the Elvis Juice ( grapefruit beer ) amazing!!

Cannot praise the Thompson crew enough. I’ve worked in frontline customer service for 26yrs and these guys not only tick every box you have to make more boxes to tick as they are that amazing at what they do. The passion from taking the place on as a shell to what it is now and how they run the place is something to be admired. To greet so many people they will only see once as if they have known them for years is proof of how they roll. Lastly massive thanks as they support local breweries like ourselves at the imperial. Sending massive beer love to ya all

First visit, 15 minutes between trains. Good feel to small bar room, with wooden floorboards. Had a pint of cask milk stout and a pork pie. Both delicious - but then I had to dash!

Found this absolute gem on Platform 3b at Doncaster Station at 8pm last night after a snowy and very cold day in London. Was simply trying to find somewhere more comfortable than the waiting room next door which was standing room only and freezing because the automatic doors were constantly opening and closing. It really is a gem of a place - warm, cosy a great choice of drinks available! A lad and his dad run it - they deserve to do well. Loved it and will certainly be back!

What an absolutely amazing place. I just got off the train in Doncaster and stopped by for a quick gin (or several) to warm the cockles in these sub zero temperatures. I had the pleasure of meeting the two proprietors. Nice one gents, just what Doncaster needs. You make, excellent ambassadors for Doncaster; being the first bar that people come across as they arrive by rail in our great town. Awesome place, great history. Thanks for introducing me to “Doncaster gin”. See you next time that I’m passing through.

Me & my fiancé called in today for a gin, and I absolutely love your little pub. I was sat on the comfy seat looking around in awe at the beautiful decor. You’ve done a fantastic job, just what Doncaster station needed. I may have just found my new favourite pub x

It's the best beer bar in Doncaster... and beyond! Situated on Platform 3B of Doncaster station you will find a small cozy bar with a rotating selection of 7 keg and 3 cask beers, plus an excellent can and bottle selection. The beers are all top quality and often feature rare offerings from Europe and the US you wouldn't usually be able to get hold of. The staff are exceptional and provide a warm welcome. If you're not sure what to go for, set out your preferences and they'll suggest a beer (or two) for you.

Loved this little pub on the platform at Doncaster Station. Great choice of beers and really nicely done out inside. There's a few outdoor tables if you want to watch the trains passing. Pork pies on the bar looked great too. Definitely my favourite place in Doncaster for a pint.

Making only my second ever visit to Doncaster. Only previous visit was with Flat Eric for a football match. Madge with me this time. A short train ride from Sheffield. She spotted this small bar come café on Platform 3b so stopped for a quick half. A NZ Pale by Shiny brewery. A refreshing 3.9% beer. Lovely small interior. Sat outside on the platform. Two other real ales on sale.

Stumbles across this delight when I had some time to kill between connecting trains. What a gem!!. Its tiny so you might have to stand sometimes. 8 beers on offer from Pilsner through to Coffee Porter with very decent well kept cask ales in between. Wish every pub was like this.

I’m a big fan of the concept of pubs on railway platforms as a whole, but there are levels and this is at the top tier. Firstly, the range is on a different level. Cask from the likes of Thornbridge and Milestone on my visit, and included a varied Keg range from Dutch brewery Jopen that I haven’t seen anywhere else before, with a superb range in the fridge. The setting and ambience is fantastic, with the architecture and fittings being sympathetic to the golden age of train travel. Service was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. And then there is the value, which in these times is different than it was a few years ago… but it felt like being in a fabulous timewarp with cask prices basically unchanged, and keg prices considering the ABV and rarity very reasonable indeed. If you are passing through Donny station - and even if you’re not - it’s worth booking a ticket that delays you for a good 90 minutes at the very least (and they do take out in cans and plastic milk bottles if you haven’t got time). I can’t speak highly enough of them.

Lovely micropub with plenty of cask, draft, can and bottled beers to choose from. Sit back and relax outside on the platform and watch the trains and people rush by. Excellent. Friendly staff and good prices. Good range of Bar snacks available. Excellently and sympathetically restored interior of the old station buffet, which before these guys was relegated to a dilapidated store room after the buffet was shut by British Rail in the early 1990's or there abouts. Will certainly be back. *hopefully those screens on the bar are taken down soon as you have to go to the side of them anyway to get the beer or speak properly to the bartender :)

Update note that smaller measurements ie ⅓, ½, ⅔ can be much more expensive than the pint equivalent. I personally do not think this is fair especially as some beers have high ABV. See Photo Great atmosphere and excellent service, prices are competitive too cheers

Located on platform 3b in the former buffet room this is really good micro pub with a great selection of beers, the refurb had been done to a really high standard with excellent decor. We came on a sunny Saturday afternoon when it wasn't too busy, sat both inside and outside with a couple of quality beers. I would think it would get quite cramped when busier. Highly recommended.
