Went on Friday 9th Feb what a lovely hidden away restaurant food was amazing and the service was second to none - friendly staff excellent food what more can you ask for I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Husbands birthday, thought we’d try and it hasn’t disappointed. The staff are amazing, teaching my daughter how to speak Thai, had the Bangkok starter, was lovely, and for mains massaman curry, rice, home made chips, the gin menu is great. And the after 8 mints were fab at the end for my girls, an overall fantastic place to eat. Defo recommend. Thank u for the fantastic experience x
A gem of a place! Cannot recommend this place enough, food is incredible!
Doncaster needs this place..so happy your back Tong, your place always was the best food in town and still is, had a beautiful meal last night with excellent service! Thank you x
First time we came here and the food was beautiful, the staff were really helpful on which foods to try.
Very nice decor and surroundings.
Would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely be back.
We all went for a meal last night to celebrate my mums birthday, absolutely fantastic.
Would certainly recommend. The food, the drinks and all the staff exceptional.
Will definitely be going back, this was my second visit.
Amazing! The staff were great and the food was beautiful. We went for a celebratory meal and were very accommodating. Something very minor (and out of their hands) went wrong and they went well above and beyond to make up for it. Couldn't have asked for more! I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be back!
Went on a whim and was truly blown away by the food...!!! Usually frequent a lovely Thai place in Sheffield, but not any more, the taste and quality of this food is the best of its kind...!!! And Singha beer on draught too....!!!
Beautiful place with amazing food! First time trying Thai and went for the set menu and everything was lovely, also had a great choice of gins! will definitely be back!! x x

Wow!! What a fantastic afternoon we had in the Thai restaurant for our wedding day in June. The food was amazing and all the staff that looked after us on that day couldn't do enough for us. A big thank you again to all who made our day so very special. We will definitely be returning.
Absolutely amazing, the service was the best bar none and the food stunning, been going to the sal for 20 years and the welcome has never been as good as it is now, unbelievable place
Tasty as it gets, good atmosphere and surroundings, friendly and helpful staff, not expensive and pub below means loads of drinks to choose from. Singha on draft
First time visiting the Thai at the sal last night, lovely food, great service, lovely restaurant and atmosphere, would definitely recommend! X
Amazing night at Thai at the Sal.. great food, excellent service and will definitely come back again and will
deffo recommend to family and friends 👍
Eat here a lot its easily the best food in town and the new menu will be a smash
Great traditional pub in a quiet location! Something that suprisingly is rare nowadays in Doncaster due to the massive popularity of 'chart and tart' and r'n'b lounges.
It's great for a pre-drink or just a chillout night, though this place does get rammed out on race days and football match days.
Took a trip here a couple of weeks ago. Looked at the menu before I went and thought it looked quite interesting, not often you see a pub that has a Thai restaurant on top and serves some of the Thai food in the actual pub. Fair to say I was blown away by how good the food was, can honestly say it is some of the best Thai food I have tried, had the beef massman curry and it was superb. Loads of flavour and the beef quite literally fell apart. The pub itself was nice, lots of choice of drink with a good amount of cask beer available. Nice large menu and plenty of room even on a Saturday. Will go again if I am ever back in Doncaster and certainly recommend 👍
Great meal with friends. Never disappoints. I've been several times and the food is always good. Friendly staff and always good service. You can ask for the meals to be adjusted to your taste too, which helps to accommodate everyone's taste.
Review: The Salutation Thai Restaurant
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
My recent visit to The Salutation Thai Restaurant was a delightful culinary journey that showcased the best of Thai cuisine. With its attentive service, inviting ambiance, and sumptuous dishes, this restaurant left a lasting impression.
The extensive menu offered a diverse selection of authentic Thai dishes, each bursting with the vibrant and nuanced flavours that define Thai cuisine. The food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented, reflecting the skill and passion that goes into each dish.
One of the most striking aspects of my visit was the restaurant's welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Situated upstairs, the restaurant has a warm and cosy feel, while the option to order and dine in the courtyard during warmer months adds a delightful alfresco element to the dining experience.
The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience from the moment we walked in. Their warm welcome and attentive service significantly enhanced the overall experience, making us feel truly valued as guests.
The Salutation Thai Restaurant truly embodies the heart and soul of Thai cuisine and culture, making it a must-visit for any food lover. The minor drawback is that the restaurant can get busy during peak times, but this is a testament to its popularity and the quality of its offerings.
Already, we're planning our next visit, eager to explore more of the tantalising dishes on offer. The Salutation Thai Restaurant earns a well-deserved 4-star rating for its exemplary service, delightful ambiance, and exceptional cuisine.
If you’re after an adult bar to watch sports at with great drinks and a vibrant feel this is where to head. The Thai restaurant upstairs is great too. Large open area at the back and a cosy pub feel at the front Grahame and the team have got it right!
It's the first time I've been here but I'll definitely be back. It's a good old fashioned type of decor but nothing old fashioned about the food and drink great freshly made chips with our very tasty sandwiches a good selection of drinks and very welcoming staff. It can be a bit different to park near it but it's in the centre so not too far to walk. We were in there mid afternoon so can't really comment on how busy it gets I'll come back a bit later in the day and do another review which will not be any hardship.
Three of us went here for a pint, Baileys and wine. We all received a great drink and enjoyed the British Pub along with great company. We had heard this was a ‘rough’ area, but did not find any problems. The street was under construction, but we did find parking. We will not be in the area any time soon, but had a great time.
It was our first time at "The Sal" tonight. We had a great time. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was our first time ordering Thai food and the waitress helped us out and recommended us a great meal. Prices were spot on. The atmosphere inside was really warm and friendly. Downstairs in the pub the football was on and the place was quite full, upstairs all but 2 tables were full and although it was loud it wasn't booming or echoie like in some places. All in all we had a lovely evening and will definitely be going back soon. I would recommend "The Salutation" to everyone.
This was my first time visiting Thai At The Sal and it certainly won't the last, friendly welcome, attentive service. Really enjoyable atmosphere. Food came out fast and was bursting with flavours. The restaurant is upstairs, but you can order and eat in the courtyard if you wish which is a great addition for warm summer evening's. We are already planning our next visit.
Looking for a new food experience in the Doncaster area? Then check out Thai at the Salutation!
Located upstairs in this classic British pub on South Parade, Thai at the Salutation is a lovely relaxed dining experience in a tastefully decorated restaurant. The staff are warm and welcoming, and are happy to help however they can. The menu has plenty of options for most diners, from those experienced with Thai cuisine to absolute novices, so there should be something to suit everyone’s taste and wallet.
Dishes are generously portioned, even if they don’t appear to be so at first glance - the food is rich and filling, flavourful and delicious! We just about managed starters and mains, though were getting quite full towards the end of mains!
Everything was cooked and presented beautifully, and we definitely look forward to dining with Thai at the Salutation in future.
Good beer. Superb Thai food. Decent pizzas if you like eating but don’t like food.
