Despite being Southern shandy-drinking softies, we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by the incredibly warm and friendly staff. The menu offered a good choice, catering for gluten-free. The food arrived quickly and tasted AMAZING!!! All in all, a wonderful experience. Oh did I mention the staff are friendly and the food is amazing. Looking forward to returning when we are up this way in a couple of weeks.

Been to the Bay Horse quite a few times and I believe in giving a true review. The warmth within from the regulars is second to none, the staff can't do enough for you and the beers are well kept with a good selection to choose from. The food is absolutely fantastic, be it a delicious Sunday Lunch or a midweek meal treat, Brilliant value and extremely high standards. There you go

The landlord and all of his staff are to be thanked for making my stay here such a pleasure. Well kept beer, great Guinness and wholesome food. Best rabbit pie I've eaten in years. Also, being a stranger in town, I would also love to thank all of the regulars who were all so friendly.

I had an opportunity to sample three of Hatfield's watering holes, and had an enjoyable afternoon. I preferred the Bay Horse as it was a much smaller pub than than the others, and seemed cosy. It was the only pub in the village that had cask beers. I spent time talking with the friendly and hardworking young landlord and he kindly shared his thoughts and plans for the Bay Horse. This is a foodie pub but not overwhelmingly so. I didn't eat but would return there if I had the choice to have a meal locally.

Lovely warm welcoming pub, we called here to eat on our way home from the seaside. We was in luck as the kitchen was closing in 30mins but thankfully we managed to order and eat some of the nicest pub grub you could get. I had the pie of the day which was lamb and my partner had the chicken burger, both exceptional quality and value for money.

This beleaguered pub seems to have finally turned a corner. We went in for lunch and the staff were very welcoming , the food was very tasty but not as hot as I would have liked, maybe that's just my preference. We will certainly be going again.

New permanent landlord who is trying hard to re-establish ita position as a go to food pub. Had lunch today and the food was really good. Great new menu including a couple of home made specials. Give it another try!

Great occasion. Greg and Charlotte did us proud. We were a group of 20 or so and everyone said the same, the quality of the meal was excellent and the portions were more than generous. I understand that Greg and Charlotte are leaving in the new year which is a real shame as this pub had gained a reputation for good food and service under their stewardship.

Great menu and quick service. The sausage and mash was tasty, as was the seafood linguine, however the smoked fish was a little dry. Friendly staff and locals!

Just had a lovely pre birthday lunch. The fish was cooked perfectly in a lovely crunchy thick batter. My husbands gammon was cooked so tender and the piece was very thick. So nice clean plates. Nothing too much for the lovely young lady behind the bar. Highly recommend.
