Superb food , superb place and they recently donated all the food and drink to a 3 peak walk for 40 people .. thoroughly recommend !! Really nice good people !! And thank you !!
Highly recommend. Nice traditional pub. We recently had lunch and really enjoyed the Meat Sharing Platter. It was perfectly cooked :-)
Just had the chicken, bacon, cranberry and Camembert special... it was delicious highly recommend it
Brilliant pub! So very kindly fed and watered our charity walk over the 3 peaks, well needed
Always lovely food, nothing too much trouble. Polite staff who make you feel very welcome. Traditional village pub!!
A huge thank you for your generous supplies you donated for The 3 Peaks Challenge. They were amazing and the thought gone into them was just perfect and what we needed to help us get through the day. Loved the surprise at the end too! Thank you so much
Excellent service our starters and main course were well presented and extremely tasty the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff are very welcoming and very attentive lovely place to go and will always go back again and again
We were looking for a proper 'pub pub' today - home cooked food, hand-pull ales etc. We had the steak & Ale pie, Camembert sandwich & kids meals. All came with chunky chips - all very nice & generous portions (we practically rolled out). Finished with Black Sheep Ale. Service was very friendly
Excellent Sunday Lunch, would recommend, lovely home cooking, true value for money, proper pub.
Had a lovely meal and bottle of wine and the staff were very friendly. Definately will return!
Called in without booking and had not been before. Very friendly waitress quickly took us to a table in the small restaurant. A good menu, plenty of good choices. The food was delicious. All homemade. We had to try a pudding and the chocolate brownie was to die for !
Highly recommend and we will certainly go there again, when next in the area.
What a great find!
This just looks like a standard local, but the food is just amazing! The service is second to none and the quality of food for the price paid is great!
Staff are helpful and there is a great selection of beers and wines.
Definitely worth a visit!
My two beautiful friends had made arrangements for lunch to celebrate my birthday, I had to wear a large badge with 65 on, a youngman bought the menu on a chalk board an put it on a chair close to us. I suddenly felt old but we all had a good laugh. Enjoyed lunch, great value for money and the staff were brilliant. Will dine there again.
Popped on for dinner after a full day our locally on New Year’s Day. The staff were really friendly. The lass behind the bar with dark hair was super smiley and had a laugh so was super warming on our arrival. The food was delicious, proper home cooked pub food. Kids portions had nice options too and a good size for the older kids. The steak and ale pie was amazing, so much meat in it and what I’d call a proper pie!
Will definitely pop back if we are ever in the area again.
Lovely places ,the staff really nice and clean ,they nice play area for kids, they lot gluten free and kids meals relly big but great treat,
We arrived just before 12.00pm, we didn't pre book but managed to get a table, restaurant was fully booked but we sat in the bar area. Very busy and we took this as a good sign. Good menu choice and when food arrived it was delicious. Staff were very efficient and very friendly. We will definitely be going back.
Regularly go to eagle & child never fails to satisfy lovely food generous portions and fantastic value for money
A classic british pub with a great seasonal menu,. The regularly changing specials board adds a twist to the regular fare also. Sometimes consider the Kangaroo burger or rabbit pie, but usually plump for the Hunters Chicken, burger or lasagne. Can't go wrong either way + a nice selction of ales. All reasonably priced.
Eagle and Child in Auckley is a nice pub mainly serving good quality food.
Plenty of selection from the menu and daily specials on the boards inside.
It's not you usual pub grub, more a restaurant inside a pub.
Booking a reservation is recommended during peak times.
The decor is old world style, clean and comfortable.
Staff are pleasant polite and smart in appearance.
On my visit I ordered the Eagle Grill at under £20 requesting the steak to be cooked medium.
It arrived in around 20mins, steak, chicken, gammon and sausages were all cooked to perfection.
Condiments brought to the table came in individual pots which could be a concern for the eco friendly due to the waste if unused and extra cleaning required, although individual pre packages could make the venue appear more cafe than quality.
WiFi is available but you need to ask for the password, you will need this. I'm not sure if the area is a poor quality reception or because the walls to the pub are so thick it causes a signal problem.
It's close to Doncaster Airport and the wildlife park and the neighbouring village Austerfield which was home to some of the original settlers of America who travelled on the Mayflower.
If this review was informative enough for you give it a thumbs up for others.
Lovely pub to go for a meal, the food was very good . We had to wait quite a while for it but it was a very busy Saturday night. You need to book in advance for Saturdays.
Great pub & consistently good food. Very reasonably priced as well for the quality & quantity you get. Would definitely recommend.
Food was very tasty and portion sizes were amazing. My 4 year old enjoyed his food just too much of it. The service was great, staff were friendly and seemed happy. The reason I gave 3 stars for atmosphere is because it is very cramped and as a disabled person it was a bit uncomfortable.
Lovely meal here last Wednesday with friends, had the senior menu which I must say was plenty for us, hate wasting 0food, had the lasagne served with garlic bread , it was very tasty , well presented, great atmosphere, good service, will most certainly be back 😋
Amazing food, quick and timely service. Huge carpark bit small dining area inside. Highly recommend the food
Picked this pub for an early dinner as it was 15 minute walk from the Yorkshire wildlife park and all the onsite restaurants were fully booked. Pub had a good menu choice, that all 7 of us were happy with and the flexibility with changing chips to jacket potato was an option that put a smile on my face.
Staff were friendly and helpful, would visit again.
Great pub. Great food and lovely friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Steak pie was beautiful.
