Couldn't fault anything.
Food is amazing, a good selection if dishes, all made while you wait if you want any changes you can.
Beautiful old building, with real fires. Nice and warm. Lovely staff.
My wife and I have just been here for a birthday meal, the only words I can use is 'absolutely fantastic'.... friendly greeting from the staff, very attentive waitresses and gorgeous food... I give it 10 stars if I could and we'll definitely be returning to sample more of the menu. Thank you so much for a brilliant evening.
This pub was recommended to me by a nephew of mine and I'm so glad I took it up!
The White Horse Inn is located in a gorgeous little village near Retford and is definitely worth a visit.
The staff are friendly and informative and work in a quaint old English setting with low beams and even lower door frames!
The range of beers and wines is excellent and something for everyone.
Where it comes into its own is when you go through to the restaurant.
The menu is simply fantastic and the quality of each dish we tried was magnificent!
My wife and I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, including the Ritz in London and Gordon Ramseys in Las Vegas.
I can easily say that the quality and range on offer at the White Horse was as good as anything they could muster!
I'm shocked that they haven't got a Michelin star above the door, but there's time yet!!
Fantastic little pub with truly excellent food and the service was great. Nice atmosphere and didn't feel rushed or overcrowded.
The food was excellent perhaps the best steak I've had for a long time.
Very friendly staff can't wait to return.
The White house is somewhere I'd visited once or twice more than 20yrs ago.... Moved out of area and I'd forgotten about how nice it was... That was until we remembered last weekend and went back. Very organised pub/restaurant. Beautiful food And surprisingly not that expensive for such a nice place and quality food... Not be another 20 yrs before we're back that's for sure
First visit and can truly recommend this place. Warm open fires and a warm welcome. Really good food.
Had a lovely meal here, the food was amazing, the steaks are definitely delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and although not an establishment where they automatically add a service charge, we were more than happy to leave a tip as the service was outstanding. Well done team, great food and great service.
Decided to visit after reading so many positive reviews.
The pub is a typical traditional village local and has a very nice atmosphere. We were surprised how busy the place was for an early Wednesday evening.
And personally, I was surprised and pleased to see two of my favourite ales on tap - Farmers Blonde and Timothy Taylor's!
As for the food, it definitely wasn't typical pub food, but very good quality and all cooked to order.
There's a varied choice of courses, but they appear to specialise in steaks, all supplied by a butcher in Yorkshire and really very good!
Not the cheapest meal we've had but really good food.
We will definitely be making a return visit.
Came across this pub/restaurant entirely by accident but definately one we'll be visiting regularly from now on! Infact we've already booked back in for the Chinese new year banquet lol very friendly owners and staff, very reasonably priced food that is absolutely delicious and a good range of beers and ales. Highly recommend a visit and be sure to try the scallops with black pudding it was amazing.
Free WiFi. Nice cozy place. Very old looking. Lovely flower display. Free car park. A pint of Timothy Taylor, half of Guinness and an orange juice was 7.80. They do food but it looks expensive
