My wife and I were fortunate enough to eat here twice during our short stay with great friends in Donaghadee. Both times were very memorable for the wonderful food, lovely old world ambience and genuinely warm welcome and hospitality. Perhaps it helps when your friends are becoming a familiar fixture at their local, but each member of the staff went out of their way to look after us and make us feel at home. Recommended dishes include the Chilli Salt and Pepper Squid, Chicken Stack, Bang Bang Chicken, Seafood Chowder, Rump Steak, Burger meal and Chicken, Chorizo Pasta Bake. Could easily see us making this our local if we ever moved to this sweet little seaside town!
Always excellent! A well established favourite in Donaghadee. I tend to struggle to decide what to eat as there are so many good options on the menu. Service always prompt and friendly, find it hard to beat their Steaks - simply always fantastic.
Fantastic views from the bedroom window as the dawn broke out along the coast , room was clean and bed was confortable , great breakfast included in the room rate was brilliant value. Really enjoyed the night in the bar , open fire with the beautiful scent of logs , nice friendly crowd , couldnt fault the serving staff friendly, welcoming and helpful , saw it was dog friendly inside so will be back with the other 4legged members of the family. Great place really enjoyed my stay.
Fabulous place. Warm welcome, excellent service and exceptional food! We lodged and dined for 4 nights. Recommend you stop for a bite to eat if you're passing through the area or stay over if you can.
We stayed here for one night half board. There were 5 of us in two rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable, decorated to a sea side theme which was so nice. We ate dinner and had breakfast both were so delicious the service was impeccable we will be back.
Lovely place to go for a drink or a meal. We had both. Chicken stack was generous in size, variety of ingredients and flavours. Staff were friendly and efficient. Great atmosphere.
Stayed here for a wedding, enjoyed our stay but the room we had could do with improvement.
The food, on the other hand, was exceptional.

We stayed a family of 5 in the Holiday home. It was so lovely, sparkling clean and beautifully decorated. The service was great and very welcoming.
Lovely traditional Irish pub, warm cosy and friendly.
Food is very good and atmosphere excellent, great for families and anyone wanting a fresh, tasty meal. Would strongly recommend
Note:, Sometimes called 'The Commodore' as they do occasionally film a TV series in Donghadee and therefore change the name outside.
Called in Sunday had roast beef it was beautiful staff were lovey and service was great not the first time we have been definitely be back again
We stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely, spacious room overlooking the harbour and sea. Great menu choice and excellent value.
Food was fantastic and as for the Guinness even better. Would highly recommend if you are ever in Donaghadee
Been going here for over ten years for their fillet steaks. They are excellent, as is the quality of the whole menu. All round an excellent restaurant
As always a good meal and good service. Good wheelchair access from the back. Be aware that toilet facilities aren't great. Several heavy and narrow doors to handle, very awkward for a person with a walking aid or a wheelchair. Note that the accessible toilets are inside the facilities for 🚹 and 🚺, making it difficult and awkward for assisting someone with a different gender.
A real gem of a place to stay. Steak and stay deal is fantastic. Food and service is outstanding and the breakfast is top notch.
Lovely food, and Toby our dog felt very much at home.
Had a meal on 13 July. Not very busy so no excuse for mediocre food. Chips had to be sent back - they were not freshly made.
