On the whole, lovely location, quiet, local feel and locals very welcoming.
Staff fantastic, very welcoming, made to feel at ease and fast service!
Breakfast very nice and staff was willing to get extra items from the local store.
Rooms lovely could use some redecorating but the beds were not qui
Lovely pub. Food, especially breakfast was delicious. Cooked by a french chef. Room was nice and cosy. Will definitely stay here again!
Had the most delicious Sunday lunch at the Ram's Head. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and service. Beautifully presented and cooked ingredients, wish we didn't have to travel so far to enjoy it!
Totally brilliant stay. Fantastic dinner - so much so I dreamed about the pint of pawns. Definitely a bonus to stay here.
Saturday lunchtime, group of 4, lovely wood fire. Scallops were served with delicious sauce & home made bread. The soup was really good. Steak came with veg & potatoes, the meat was tender & smooth. The best I’ve ever enjoyed. Shepherds pie was served in a dish alongside veggies. The cheeseboard was
Had evening meal with two friends. Chef varied chosen dishes to suit personal dietary problems.
Nicely presented meals served with a smile.
Even had a dessert which I normally never eat.
Nice and varied menu we all enjoyed. Very good quality freshly cooked, locally sourced ingredients.
Definitely
What a lovely find!
We dropped in without a booking and were fortunate enough to have been squeezed in.
Sunday lunch was absolutely wonderful. Everything was cooked to perfection.
If it weren't 300 miles from home, this would definitely be a regular eatery for us.
This was a real unexpected surprised food was amazing (you haven’t had bread till you’ve had Nico’s bread) and service was on another level! We would definitely come back
Fabulous food, warm welcome, great stay all round. Megrim sole, scallops from Brixham, succulent lamb rack, short rib of beef, eggs Benedict for breakfast. I'm coeliac and carefully catered for in every way. Thank you so much Nico and Karen.
Country pub well worth a visit. You need to book a table if you wish to eat. Surprisingly limited menu but what they provide is good. Not a burgers and pizza pub. Several layers of sophistication high than that.
What an absolute gem of a place.
The rooms are really quaint, clean, tidy and just absolutely gorgeous, the food was amazing, the staff are so friendly.
Would definitely stay again if I’m back down that way xx
We were asked by a friend who has accomodation locally to visit and give a recommendation. We dined here and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service from the very friendly staff. We are looking forward to visiting again. Thank you.
Amazing place & great food Nico is a fantastic cook.
Went for a Sunday roast after a wedding, the roast was delicious, good range of trimmings and the Yorkshire was lovely. They also decorated the table for the couple. There could have been a couple more visits to the table to order more drinks but otherwise a lovely place.
This is a food destination, the food is prepared expertly and precisely in a wonderfully precise French style, the pub has a loverly village atmosphere, log buring stove great wine and beer on tap, thoroughly recommended you won't be disappointed
Food is simply amazing, lovely comfortable place to eat. Friendly staff and a beautiful location.
