Gorgeous gardens - even on a wet, cold and miserable day in November. Cafe was lovely, and we really enjoyed our afternoon tea. Staff were friendly and helpful. A really nice day out.

Beautiful if a little small Japanese garden. Nice to walk around and learn the history. Will take around one hour tops to soak it all in - it’s peaceful. Better for adults, young kids will possibly not appreciate it although the kid’s play area will be fun for them. The on-site cafe offers good service and high-quality food.

From top to toe, a breathtaking experience. Well-maintained landscapes, lovely staff, free car park. A cafe is available, too. Nature at its finest! Lush green everywhere, a perfect getaway for couples or families!🥳🙏

Absolutely beautiful gardens. Very well looked after, lovely information boards with the history which was fascinating. The cafe was beyond what I expected with a very good menu. Plenty of seating outdoors and picnic areas. Make sure to go through the locked gate to the woodland to see the lovely little fairy houses and a nice walk through the trees.

What an amazing place to visit. Even though it was raining hard. The colours were amazing. It is a lovely place to come and relax and take in the beauty of it.

Well signposted so easy to find. Absolutely stunning, peaceful & tranquil garden. All staff were so friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Only criticism would be that the access road could be doing with widening or more passing places.

Found this gem of a place through a TikTok and booked our tickets immediately for my Japan enthusiast boyfriend and I. The gardens are so well kept and beautiful to walk around. We got so lucky with the weather too. The tea room is bustling and has some delicious food on offer. Sandwiches, soup and lots of baked goods. Also offer pre-booked afternoon tea. A must see for everyone! We’ll definitely come back.

Visited the Garden for the first time . Beautiful landscaping, very relaxing walk We had a delicious lunch Only minor quibble was we went on Ella 's walk to the weir, which ultimately takes you thriugh a wood to a closed gate to a private property so you have to turn back . Why in the world would you signpost that as a walk? Aside from that it was a lovely afternoon stroll in beautiful grounds. Not ideal for those who might struggle with steps as the steps are uneven or at a slant for aesthetics. There are some open straight paths but not every path is buggy .

Great place to feel calm. We had a bit of a problem getting to the picnic area with one of us using a crutch and one using an adult walker, the grass was so high and full of divots that it was nigh on impossible to push through, I'd suggest a short grassed walkway at the least. The toilets were immaculate. We didn't use the tearoom as we were too late to book it, but the cooking smells were divine. Hats off to all that contribute to looking after the gardens. They're so well manicured, and walking past all the blooms ,the aromas were a delight to the senses. We were a group of adults and children aged from 11 to 90, and every one of us had a fantastic day out. I don't know if this will be something that you'd look into, but I would love to hear japanese music in the background, I think it would truly add to the ambience. You've all done a tremendous amount of hard work restoring this place. It brings great joy to many, going by what all the lovely guests said that we had a pleasure to meet.
