We were recommended this pub after moving to the area. Well what can I say it didn't disappoint. The food was fantastic, full of flavour & presented lovely.
The staff were so welcoming and friendly. You werent rushed to eat up and get out. Fantastic little hidden gem in the country. 100% going back. Even booked for Xmas day lunch
A lovely place to go for good old traditional British food. Staff are great, ambiance second to none and the food to die for. This was my second visit, definitely won't be the last.
Were recommended here after their sister pub, The Shoulder of Mutton, had a power cut and wouldn't be able to make our reservation. So glad they did as we wouldn't have ever come here. They fitted us in as the pub was very busy but all the food came out great and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We will be back for a Sunday lunch sometime soon.
Fantastic lunch at Queens Head today. The best king prawns in garlic I've ever had. Roast beef was superb too. Phoned and booked a table with an hours notice and couldn't fault service from that point forward. We'll be back
Probably the best food I've had in months!
Service, staff and location second to none
Popped in here for a meal after rehearsal for my son's wedding in church next door. Wonderful food. Welcoming hosts and a terrific atmosphere. Would highly recommend it.
A pub with a feel good factor. Everyone in our party of seven was really impressed.
Fantastic little pub. Top notch service, beautiful food, reasonably priced - everything you could ask for in a local village pub. Many of the larger establishments could take a leaf from their book. Have been before and will definitely go again.
Excellent food and service! The staff could not do enough for us. Definitely visit again!
Our favourite pub! Excellent food and great service on every visit, never lets you down 👍
Just had our anniversary lunch here today. Fabulous food and such attentive & friendly staff. Had a great time!
Good menu with lots to choose from even for vegetarians. Great hospitality and great food.
Excellent food, great beer good service. Traditional English pub.
Another great night, fab food and service the beef stroganoff was delicious, hubby had sea bream & seabass, said it was superb, wonderful atmosphere, staff lovely.
Thank you all for a lovely evening.
Best pub grub I've had in a long time friendly staff and customers real joy
Excellent meal of slow-roasted pork belly. Difficult to fault, and reassuringly slow to be prepared and delivered. A lovely a generous portion, and highly recommended.
Deserts were perhaps not quite as excellent as the main course, but no matter.
Only possible gripe was the comfort of the seating, which really were not pleasant. But the food was excellent.
Absolutely fantastic food for the both of us today. Very friendly and accommodating staff too. Can’t believe I’ve not been back here in so long. Will definitely return soon! Thoroughly recommended.
Food is great. Better make reservations first.
Food was good, but took a while to arrive.
We enjoyed the breaded Brie, and halloumi on salad for starters, followed by a steak Diane and duck breast for mains. Staff were friendly, but often we were both left with empty glasses and in need of another round.
The steak Diane dish seems a popular choice, though my rare steak was more medium-rare, but nevertheless I enjoyed it, plus the creamy mushroom sauce, chips, and salad that came with it.
The most annoying part was how dark the pub was. We’d been sat in a dimly lit room at the end of the bar, and there just wasn’t enough lighting at all.
It was also frustrating when I went to wash my hands that they were rationing soap out in minuscule amounts from an automated soap dispenser like it’s 2019.
Overall however a very good meal in a pretty area, and good value (about £85 for two courses for the two of us, and various drinks).
Lovely character country pub visited by Katherine of Aragon!
Food favouring English fare & good selection of beers.
Great garden with tables & benches to relax on.
Haven’t rated food as just popped in for a relaxing beer in the decent size garden. We’ll worth a visit 😊
Great find. Lovely laid back atmosphere. Food was excellent. Service great without being intrusive. A gentle evening. I don't normally give five stars for everything so had to choose one for four stars. Just slightly lacking in atmosphere.
Been here a couple of times now and both times it’s been fantastic. Service is great from start to finish and the food is incredible. Whatever you have, make sure it includes chips as they are some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Biscoff cheesecake also is not to be missed. Can’t wait for the next visit already!
Outstanding Gastro experience, don't miss it! Wonderful off the beaten track gem. Cozy and pretty inside, warm friendly staff, wide selection of simply amazing food. Cannot recommend them enough (and their pizza oven will soon be back in action), we'll be back for their Sunday lunch extravaganza ;)
A great gastro pub with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Great British food and best Sunday roast.
Lovely old village pub, good food and friendly service. Limited Sunday menu with few gluten free options but the rest of the week is fine. Will return!
Went for lunch. Great selection of food which was delicious. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Very much enjoyed our visit
What an experience. I have never been to this place in my lifetime, and only happened across it due to a recommended shortcut, but I'm so glad I went to see. The food is excellent, the pictures are just us having 6 starters as we wanted a tappas style munch, but they were all fantastic. We are definitely going back as the menu is amazing and the choice is very good. Seriously, look them up, and you won't believe the size of the burgers nor the pie of the day. I was also treated very well by Ben, a member of staff who got us a table even though we were walk in customers and had a sense and knowledge of how the restaurant was going to be busy but wanted us to feel welcome . This is definitely a hidden gem in the Hampshire countryside. The gardens are extensive and full of sunshine, and the whole place was very warm and welcoming. 💯 recommended
We had an excellent Sunday roast and chocolate fudge cake dessert. It was absolutely delicious. We were warmly welcomed by Fabio who had remembered my request to sit near the fire. It was warm and cosy. Fabio and all the staff especially our server Arabella were friendly and super efficient. The Queen’s Head Dogmersfield was recommended to me and I have no hesitation recommending it too. Wonderful experience- thank you all !!
Had an excellent meal here. The serving staff were on the ball and kept us all happy. Will come back again.
A lovely gastro pub, that makes excellent use of the village green to provide extensive outdoor seating.
Came for lunch on a Saturday and enjoyed some tasty calamari followed by well executed pork belly. This was all washed down by a good selection of beer, which include hogs back TEA.
Stopped here purely at random after our second disappointment at a local farm shop, and had a delightful lunch.
The service, from the new trainee to all the other staff was really friendly and attentive.
The food, although we only had a main meal, was good and the bar well stocked.
We had Filet Steak and Fish and Chips. Both were excellent. The Steak was one of the best during our holiday in England. The staff was friendly. Had a great time. Thank you 5 Stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
