We were invited to a taster menu evening, and I have to say the food is top class. I would definitely recommend the red lion for a place to eat � � � � �
Had a lovely meal served by friendly staff and would recommend it. Very extensive menu, maybe too much choice.
We have just had the most perfect meal at the Red Lion. 3 courses all superb. Even though it was busy, the staff, service and ambience was excellent. We would highly recommend.

Been today for Sunday roast, and can’t fault it one bit! All the staff went up and beyond to help you! Sunday dinner was out within 20 minutes, pipping hot! Definitely recommend and definitely returning �

Came for Fathers Day and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Just a small criticism to add and it really is small. My 9 year old asked me for the children's menu and their wasn't one, however he chose from the normal menu and enjoyed everything, I was worried that I was going to pay £20 for something he wasn't going to eat but he surprised us all! 😂. The staff were lovely 😊

Popped in last night for a final treat of a great weekend. We were greeted warmly, and made to feel very welcome. We opted for the Valentine’s Menu (even though He doesn’t do Valentines!) and it was delicious, piping hot and great value. Yes, there was a little wait between courses, but that’s what happens when everything is freshly made. We’ll be back, no doubt about it. Thank you.

There were six adults plus two children meeting for a nice meal and drinks. Two had the steak two the gammon and two the home made pie. The service and staff were all excellent the pub itself was spotlessly clean. The meals were all fantastic cooked fresh the plates were emptied. There is a great selection of beers and drinks something for everyone. We would have had a dessert but the children needed their beds. The hostess who runs the pub was such a lovely woman it was an absolute lovely experience. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Just been for Roast Dinner meal with my boyfriend...wow best roast I've had for a while. We had the Roast Belly Pork with Apple sauce/Crackling which melted in your mouth.Garry had a dessert...Apple & BlackBerry crumble with custard it was a good portion & tasted lovely. Overall a fab meal & good customer service in a cosy atmosphere. We shall be back soon. Just wanted to say are waitress was Rachel who was fab & thank you.
13 th August- Had to come back within the week to have the Sunday roast again as it was fab last week...we have brought my mum this time & she loved the Pork too. I have to mention there brilliant welcoming staff yet again so good especially Ethan & Rachel looking after us. Thank you & be back again soon.

The food here is excellent, we've never had a bad meal. Great menu selection and there's some vegan options, in addition to vegetarian. Staff are friendly and service is good. They certainly make you feel welcome.
A great family meal, good kids meals and the quality of food was outstanding for the price. Service friendly and efficient. Just a shame the same chain restaurant in our home town of Bollington doesn’t match the high standards of the Red Lion.
Just enjoyed the best Sunday roast I've had in ages. Service was attentive but not in your face, food was excellent. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely be returning!

I can't recommend this pub/restaurant highly enough. Our meal tonight (starters and mains) was excellent, both in terms of food flavour and quality, and value. Generous portions, too. The Red Lion is a lovely place in a tranquil, attractive village. Perhaps best of all was the service: Olivia, Lily and Karina could not have been more helpful or pleasant! We were made to feel very welcome, and really enjoyed our evening. Thank you!
We have had lunch time meals several times over the last year and all our meals and companions meals have been very good and enjoyed by all. The service has always been friendly. There has been music playing but truly in the background so it does not infringe on conversation. The photo is of Kedgeree fish cakes Brocalli and French fries. Delicious.
We visited for Sunday lunch, two of us had the trio of meat Sunday roast. One had fish and chips. The food was delicious and served lovely and hot. We didn't have a starter but did treat ourselves to a Christmas pudding dessert. We will be back.
Once again I ordered fish and chips and when cutting through the batter , the underside was wet and not crispy . Decent service. Nothing special. I waz on my own and thru found it difficult to find me a table .
This was my first time coming here, we came for Sunday lunch at about 6pm. The service started off really well but slowed down towards the end. When we finished our meal, it took a long time for someone to come clean the table and offer the dessert menu. Then again, when we finished dessert, it took a long time for someone to come back to pay.
They had run out of roast potatoes after we put our order in but substituted it with mash potatoe. The roast dinner was really nice and so was the pudding. I've not given it a 5 star due the slow service and no roasties. It's not put me off going again and trying something else.
Banoffee pie to die for, very fresh and great texture. Service is always exceptional, nothing is ever too much trouble. Brilliant pub and very good quality for money 👍
Enjoyed a lovely family meal here. Great drink selection, great food at reasonable price and the staff were polite and friendly.
Area to eat outside as well as in.
Would definitely recommend a visit here. Maybe book first as it can get quite busy.
