The food here is truly delicious. Everything that we had was excellent, and everything else on the menu looked just as enticing. The people were really friendly and helpful, and the decor inside gives a warm comfortable feel to the restaurant as well.
My family and I visited here at the weekend for the breakfast menu. We have visited many times over the years but this was the first time for breakfast.
At £12.50 for a cooked breakfast with a hot drink and a large fruit juice it was excellent value for money.
I had a Fricassee de Champignons with egg and bacon and it was delicious. My family members had the Full English and were all very happy with it.
The man who served us was the manager. He was incredibly polite and attentive and went above and beyond for service. He was great with my toddler, offering her a highchair, a colouring set and a babycino. He was conscious about not putting hot drinks and plates in front of her too which is something that often gets overlooked at restaurants.
We will all definitely be back for breakfast in the future and are intending to try the Afternoon Tea next!
Superb place wonderful food as ever, big party of 7 of us and the lovely Lauren served us proud. Professional, sweet with a great sense of humour, she ensured the table was in perfect status all night. Other servers came out when it was time to serve and as ever just a super super experience. Please try this place when you can you will be delighted. The service team really help to turn a good meal into an event to remember. First time visiting. Food was really nice and service was decent. Very noisy but you don't notice after a while.
Was disappointed to see a 10% service charge automatically added onto the bill. The waitress did mention we could take it off so we did. Felt awkward doing so though and she seemed annoyed about it afterwards.
This isn't America, we don't have a mandatory tipping culture. If I've received particularly good service I do tip but when auto charged I absolutely don't as I find it really cheeky.
It's not enough to put me off the restaurant though as everything else was lovely.
Friendly and efficient staff who make you feel welcome and are attentive, without being intrusive.

I can highly recommend this restaurant, which we have visited on numerous occasions over the past 12 years, to anyone looking for somewhere reasonably priced to eat at, in Derby.
Lovely experience here. Have frequented the bistrot Pierre many times but this was probably one of my best experiences. My wife had the calamari to start and it was the best I've ever had. Perfectly tender, not greasy just delicious. We all had the rump steak for main course, all cooked as ordered and very tasty. Our waitress was lovely, very good service throughout even if we had to prompt about our deserts. When they've arrived they were equally good. Overall a very good experience.

But having worked for many years in hospitality, the waitress service definitely needed upping .
The girls were all lovely, but like most places these days , lack efficiency , we were forever trying to attract their attention , to order initial drinks , to order food , more water , the menu for dessert, more drinks... a real shame , particularly in view of the cost , I'd really hope for better service.

Went for breakfast, was so tasty and quality ingredients, presented so well and such great value for the price. Our host greeted us warmly and was just so friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble for her. Will definitely return again soon.
