Having been to Derby and only going shopping or out to the restaurant been passed the Derby Museum & Art Gallery looking at the outside it looks like a small Museum but when entering the property it lot more. Bigger than in size, I was very impressed with the size of the Museum loads of interesting,
I especially liked the art gallery section, with works by Joseph Wright of Derby. I would recommend spending at least an hour here to look around. Gift shop included.
it looks small from the outside, but there are a lot of things to see. the collection s of different bugs, butterflies... are impressive. it got some paintings there too. kids and I liked the corner for children to play and to sit down to read books. staff there are kind and helpful.
Loved it at this museum. Took my 2, 4 and 6 year olds and they enjoyed it too. There is a play area on the top floor which had Aircon which was very welcome when we went on the hottest day of the year. Loads to look at and the cafe is very lovely too with very good coffee.
This museum is amazing!! So glad we decided to visit. The favourite of the children were all the animals in display. We were here for a good hour but probably could have spent longer with there being so much to see.
Didn't visit the cafe but the selection of cakes on offer looked delicious!
Will def
Pretty cool museum and art gallery with some famous artworks. The ancient log boat was my favourite. The staff were helpful and super nice as well.
A great museum and art gallery which is free to visit. Different exhibitions throughout the year and permanent exhibits on display in different galleries too.
The museum covers the history of Derby and the local area from it's earliest days up and until the present day. We have visited numerous time
I've visited Derby museum several times over the past few years. It's always interesting and has quite a few different exhibits. My kids love the animals and insects and the mummy exhibit and War room are very interesting.
A very interesting little find! I was most surprised once I got there. Didn't expect it to hold so many artifacts. A very nice place to take the kids.
I have taken my adult students a couple of times and they always love it. There is now a great exhibition about women history makers. I met the artist by chance before going in and we were all very impressed. Well done.
