Good food and although staff were rushed - it was a very busy time- they were very good,polite, friendly and efficient. I was one of a large party and not the only such group that evening so they did very well. Would recommend and visit again.

Popped in after shopping in the Cathedral Quarter today & was impressed with the food and the service. Piping hot food that was delicious and served quickly. Also the watermelon cheesecake was so nice for desert. I will definitely eat here next time I'm over Derby.

The Jonty farmer is a lovely family environment with friendly waiters/ Waitress', Fairly priced food and probably the best toilet facilites I've seen.
There is an extensive menu containing Jacket potatoes, Curries and even Childrens meals.
A brilliant place to have Dinner, I couldn't find fault with it.
Jonty Farmer is the closest pub to University of Derby and even though the uni had student union bar, there is still a lot of students who come here. It is a spacious pub that is very family friendly. The prices are reasonable and in some aspects reminds me of weatherspoons as Jonty Farmer also has steak nights, curry nights etc. They do show a majority if not all the main sporting events here and have TV screens dotted around the pub. The food takes a while to come as its freshly made and its comfort pub food. Have been here numerous times and the food was always so tasty, comforting and wholesome. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a good choice of alcohol as they serve wines,cocktails, beers and soft drinks. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. I never had cocktails here but know the beer is good. It is a good pub thats not so far from town but a short taxi journey away.
Large pub/restaurant with a spacious outdoor area including some pod/ booth seating.
Inside there is ample seating for diners or those just going for a drink and to watch the live sports.
The food was good quality and came quickly, being very good value and generous portions. They also had special offers such as Monday being a pizza night with pizza and a drink for under £11.
The dining area was clean and staff were attentive.
Plenty of free parking on site.
From start to end the service was exemplary! We were seen to our table efficiently and politely. We were unsure of drinks to select so one of the waiting staff assisted us with this as we all had different tastes. They recommended the candy crush for my mum as she's likes very sweet tastes and she loved it! For food it was all so delicious, perfect temperature and we didn't have to wait long at all. We were seated at a table under the pink tree, which was such a lovely atmosphere. I couldn't even complain about the price neither! We all had a meal and alcoholic drink which all came to just over £60! Everything was just perfect. At the end they brought out a birthday slate for my mum, which was such a lovely touch, so thankyou for making the day special for us all. Would highly recommend 100%
Went in today on the off chance, having not been in for a while. Ordered two main meals which were brilliant and got chatting to the manager Mick who made us feel very welcome like an old traditional pub. Service was top notch and the food came out quick. Can't fault the place, lovely atmosphere. Thanks to the chefs Charlie K and Dean for serving quality food. Keep up the good work!
Overall the service is really good. There's usually up to 13 of us and they're brilliant at bringing our food out at the same time..even when they've been short staffed. Front of house and kitchen saff are all really lovely people. There's never any wasted food so that speaks for itself. What makes this place is the staff. So friendly and welcoming and go out their way to make your experience with them positive.
This was a bike ride pit stop, we were soaking wet through with kids in tow. We decided to get warmed up and fed whilst it cleared. We were early to order food, but the staff and the locals were super helpful in guiding us to the comfy shelters and heaters outdoors (due to having the bikes) and even had our food order ready on the point of 12 noon. We were made to feel welcome, and the food and service was just amazing. A great added extra within our bike ride. Thank you to all. Definitely would recommend to others.
We went here for food on Sunday 13th August. What a lovely experience we had. Service was friendly and fast. The food came out fast and was hot and well presented. We were asked if we wanted coffee and desserts and was recommended a desert which we had. I will definitely visit here again and will pass the word around about how great a pub this is
Busy but friendly, food hot and plenty of it. New pizza stand where you can see the chef cooking and comprehensive menu.
My friend and I nipped in here for a drink and a snack. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a bowl of chips each and they were dead nice.
Had fabulous service. Everyone was very friendly. There were board games for kids to play whilst waiting for food. The food was all delicious and presentation excellent. Everyone was happy. Plus got BlueLightCard discount which made it very affordable. Thank you so much. Definitely will be back again 😀
Good food overall the Mac and cheese with chicken and the sticky toffee pudding were especially good. Service wise the food came out relatively fast and was nice and hot. Also the staff were very friendly as well.
Today was our first visit here …not disappointed at all…the food was absolutely delicious and it was actually served hot …service was quick and staff were really pleasant
Only down side was slightly different menu to the one on the website due to limitations but nonetheless was still awesome
We had 5 adult meals and 2 kids meals and 3 desserts all were delicious
Passing by once again so nipped in for a cheeky one, once again was greeted by the staff, Mick the landlord remember us, ordered some refreshments, he remembered my pint but couldn’t remember what food we had last time when pressed, lol. As for the menu Mick recommended the burgers as we not too famished! Delicious, will definitely pop in again when next passing by. Feel Almost like a local now, great feeling to have for a big pub.

Lovely looking pub kept very well, clean and tidy. Met by a guy called Mick think he runs it. Very helpful asked where we would like to sit very accommodating, don’t normally get eye contact from other pubs. Food was great drinks also good not bad price. Staff checked we were ok throughout all in all very pleased will call in again
We were seated straight away, I ordered the food and drinks at the bar, we probably only waited about 20mins for our food to come out. It was cooked well, and hot when it was brought to the table. Very nice food too
