This is an excellent meeting place, eating place, drinking place whatever you want place, cannot praise Simon highly enough, he always has the knack of getting the right staff. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always someone to serve you... I've been in other Ember inns, where there arnt enough staff, so you are kept waiting too long...
The refurb is good here at the Markeaton, keep up the great work Simon and staff... 👏🏼👏🏼

Popped in on the way back from a visit to Kedleston Hall. Took advantage of the 3 course offer for £8.99 as we got there before 5pm. Good portions for such a good offer and food was smashing ! This menu was limited but we all found 3 courses we liked and we enjoyed it all. The other menu had some great choices too. Service was quick and with a smile so a fab visit had by all of us. Well done !
My local pub,Simon & his team always make us welcome, even reserving a big table for our regular family get togethers. Cheers

Had a lovely meal today, myself and my partner both had Hunters Chicken which was excellent...nice pint of Guinness too in a relaxed atmosphere.

Quality food and drink coupled with quality service. Nothing else you really need. Well equipped for large groups. Lots of outdoor seating. A stones throw from Markeaton Park Kedleston Road entrance
Not been to this pub since lockdown, forgotten how good the food was. Good quality food but at a reasonable price.
I had the roast turkey Sunday dinner and it was amazing, love the red cabbage.
Had sticky toffee pudding for afters.
Large modern clean pub with outdoor area.

Decent food a chain pub usual type of meals, and coffee served with a smartie was a nice twist. Just needs a bit of dusting and a bit of tlc around the walls, but still well worth a visit.
We had a delicious salad with chips on the side! Perfect for a summer's day. The waiter was excellent and looked after us very well.
Lots of choice on the menu I love that they have a dedicated Vegetatian & Vegan menu as well.
I ordered the Halloumi Burger, not the best I have had and the chips were a bit rubbery however the majority of my family enjoyed their meals and everything was hot.
The staff were nice and it was clean. The toilets were also clean.
My wife and I decided to go to the Markeaton Pub to enjoy the night. We were impressed by the wonderful view that the place offers. The atmosphere is cozy and lively with beautiful people. The service was impeccable, the waiters were friendly and quick. The food was divine, we ordered some appetizers and some meat that were mouth-watering. It was an incredible experience, I highly recommend this pub to anyone who wants to have fun and relax.
A lovely pub with really great portion sizes. My partner ordered two starters which was more than enough. There is a designated adorable area for digs with treats and signs which is a great idea. Lots of private tables too. You have to climb quite a few stairs to get to the bathroom but toilets nice and clean. Staff are attentive...they bought me extra gravy for my roast and let me order a smaller portion as I can never manage the larger sizes.
Bar staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Food lovely, vast choice available will have to return to try something else. Convenient halfway point between my house and my friend’s house hence the dinner
May not be a chic stainless steel pub, but I thought it was brilliant.
The staff were friendly and looked after us with our meals and drinks. Breath of fresh air to be treated like they wanted your custom its a forgotten art these days.
Food was good with a diverse selection and a selection of different ales
All in al,l I would recommend this place and wish it was my local.
