Great chips , very busy ! I had the fish goujons chips and curry sauce, take out . Very reasonably priced , generous goujons, enough chips , did have to wait a while for my order , but got served straight away...
The goujons were different, was a few weeks back now , so can't actually remember if the batter was unusual or the fish was a mush ...
Very clean !

Mum, son and me, strolled down after a few drinks in the jonty. Had fish & chips, ordered them open because we decided to sit in the seated area outside.... same feeling as walking on a beach eating, "did we feel common!?....;"lol

Very busy which I think speaks for itself. Quite a wait but that meant food was constantly being freshly cooked. Its a chip shop but as chip shops go the food was very nice and I would go back again.
You know you're at the right place when the queue is out the door .... Everything is cooked fresh and piping hot. The wait was not excessive either.... Will definitely return

This fast food shop ticks most of the boxes for the variety and quality. Whether selling cake and every other side plate is a gimmick, is an open question but the optics of a one stop shop for a total meal experience for me achieved it's goal.
The parking in this area is quite difficult but despite that, it is worth it once you get your food. It has a good reputation for taste and the portions are to date not skimpy.
From what I could see, the place is spotlessly clean and not wanting in that department.
How welcoming were the staff?
On this occasion once prompted, the front of house took the cue, got into gear and responded. The others milling around in the back had a face like a wet Monday.
However, even a Pan Am "smile" by all as a matter of routine will extinguish any doubt.
The ambience and decor is very pleasing and the outside street cafe style seating on a sunny day I imagine would be a pleasant experience and it's clear that a lot of thought and expense has gone in to making it work.
It's clear that this owner is leaving very little to chance and covering all their bases.
Finally the whole reason for my visit was not disappointing as this style of food was quite the best I've had in Derby and is consistent in it's taste and quality.
My five star review comes with a caveat. Identify even the smallest area for improvement and address it.

Had Cod,chips and peas,was excellent and cooked the Cod properly (unlike Zans) owner and staff very friendly (unlike some of Zans) parking outside

We always love Kedleston fish bar, the fish is always fresh and the chips are fluffy and crispy! We also like the kebabs from here as they've got a good salad and the chicken kebab meat is delicious!
The only thing I would mention is that the mushy pea recipe seems to have changed recently, i used to like the peas but they aren't as good anymore.
Other than that, absolutely great chippy!
Best Fish and chips I've had for years, crunchy fish not dripping in sloppy oil, crunchy chips that were not stuck together like a lump of clod, mushy peas with just the right amount of juice, not runny and not a solid dollop. The owner has a sense of humour, her daughters were smiling and laughing to aid a great atmosphere. 💯 %, won't get any better than that, oohh and I had a big sausage in batter and ate it on Markeaton Park. Brilliant.

The food is so good here! In fact, it's that good that sometimes they don't have any chicken and mushroom pies left, which makes me sad! The service is mostly great, however, sometimes can be a little slow but then, it can get busy at times. This has got to be my favourite fish and chip shop in Derby!
Had an amazing experience, got served by an amazing lady called Holly! And the fish and chips are the best I have ever had. And the Kebabs were amazing! Would 100% recommend to everyone!
