Hackwood Farm is in the middle of a new housing estate so it seems like you're in the wrong place until you see the old farm buildings. There is an outside courtyard (that could do with sprucing up a bit) and a really nicely done interior eating space. Staff were very friendly, service was very good. The full breakfast, and slightly smaller farmer's wife variant were both greeted enthusiastically. The Veggie version was good apart from the two small, very hard veggie sausages (change needed). Cherry scone for afters was excellent and all the cakes on display encouraged a return visit. Coffee was good but at nearly £4 a cup on the pricey side. But overall well worth visiting.

Really nice food! It was busy and there was a private function when we dined. Had to get waiters attention for puds and extra drinks, also just went to counter to pay as no one forth coming to get the bill from. Portion sizes for large 😍 cakes were very good! Overall enjoyed my visit. Ah, the entrance is far end of courtyard (not sign posted) I tried all the doors! 🤣

Great place for lunch or coffee. Bit out of the way and not well signposted but well recommended. Food is great and big choice.

Hackwood Café continues to provide good quality food at a reasonable price. The jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise and a side salad I had recently was delicious. The courtyard outside is a little rickety - would describe it as “shabby chic” - but the inside is very nicely done out.

A large group of us attended here for a retirement lunch and we could not have been better looked after. The table was set up and they accommodated us preordering due to the short lunch break we all had. Absolutely wonderful food, all served hot and at the same time!

Nipped in just before 3pm. Told they only do drinks and cake now. No hot food. Shame. The tea and cake were very good. Highly recommend the blueberry & lemon cake. The cafe closes at 4pm.

Tried the Bistro this evening. Although the menu wasn't very large all the food was very good quality, well presented and good portions. Service from staff was very good as well.

Service was a bit all over the place, food was nice but scones hard and dry - overbaked. Had to ask for milk and sugar after ten mins of having coffee and tea pot, and alsl not asked what sort of tea we wanted. No sweetners offered. Tea cups were dirty too we had to wipe. Overall disappointed for my birthday treat .

Brilliant - lovely place, great service (it was very busy when we went, but the staff were still good at keeping us updated and apologising for the slight delay), very good food, and a lovely setting and atmosphere. Dog-friendly too.
